British singer Boy George (55), who was at the height of his fame in the eighties of the last century, spoke about the darkest period of his life, when he kept a man prisoner in his apartment.

In 2007, the former member of Culture Club tied Norwegian Audun Karlsen, who worked as a male prostitute, to a wall and beat him with a chain. Carlsen managed to free himself and run away, calling for help.

The singer was sentenced to 15 months in prison for that.

Appearing on the British show "Piers Morgan's Life Stories", which will be shown on Friday, February 17, he told through tears that he regrets everything.

“I sent myself to prison. I told the police why I did it. I had a psychotic episode. I was a drug addict, so I can't explain now what led to that. But I told the truth," declared George.

"I don't think anything would change if I apologized to him. I always thought it more dignified not to talk about it. Drugs are to blame for everything. "None of that would have happened if I wasn't on drugs," he added.

Boy George admitted to spending £400 a day on heroin, and managed to get off the drug in prison.

Allegedly, during his stay behind bars, additional security was hired to protect the singer, because he feared that other prisoners would attack him because he is gay.

He also talked about his feud with George Michael, whom he criticized for not publicly declaring himself gay when he was at the height of his fame.

Michael insulted him back, so the two did not speak for 25 years.

“We were not good friends. We knew each other briefly in the early eighties. His name was George, so he was my rival. We kind of clashed all the time, but whenever we met live we got along well. Unfortunately, you couldn't get close to George. I know that many tried to help him, but he did not allow them", said the singer.
