Nenad Knežević Knez and Zoran Kalezić will entertain the people of Podgorica, as well as all those who are not from the capital of Montenegro, but want to celebrate the New Year there, on Independence Square, while the music will be in charge of the music on other evenings, also known as the "reprise of the welcome". band Miligram and Stevan Faddy.

As Knez noted in an interview with "Vijesti", who also revealed that this is his first New Year's performance in Podgorica, this reception is also special in that all the performers are either from Montenegro, or are in some way related to her.

"This year, so to speak, the emphasis is on performers from Montenegro, because when we look at the entire program, except for Miligram, which is on January 1, all are Montenegrin performers. And again, Miligram (Aleksandar Milić) is also connected to Podgorica, because I found out at the press conference that his parents live here," the singer said.

"That was interesting and nice to me, that we are all somehow connected to the capital, and even Miligram, who always uses his free time to visit his parents in Podgorica," adds Knez, who says that he also missed the celebration on the Square which, until last year's reception, had not been for many years.

“How can you not. I have worked so many New Years in various cities, but never in Podgorica, and I still have an overwhelming desire to celebrate a New Year in the square with my Podgorica people in my city, where I spent most of my life and the most beautiful days," he admits.

"It's one of my old wishes that has finally come true," Knez proudly points out, promising the audience a concert full of emotions.

"All performers have the same mission - to have as much fun as possible, because if it's good for us on stage, then we'll pass it on to the audience. I think this reception will be special in the sense that it will be very emotional and full of positive energy", he claims.

Last year, Knez held a concert at the Morača Sports Center on the occasion of Podgorica's birthday, and he says that this performance will be even better.

"I am very sorry that the concert was not held a day earlier or later, because December 19 is Nicholas Day, which is a great celebration, and there were also a few advertisements. I invested a lot of emotions in that concert, the date of which was not well chosen, this time everything is the same, but with a bigger team in terms of production. It will be even better, even though that concert wasn't bad either, but this is New Year's after all," he explains.

"Being different and the ambiance, because it's outdoors, with fireworks and special effects, a bigger stage, lighting... Everything fell into place and again I have a really good band that is with me on stage and they are great musicians and hardly we are waiting", says Knez, who also prepares covers in addition to original songs.

"Of course, because for the New Year we always had covers that create a very good atmosphere. I have been singing those numbers for years, so they have become part of my repertoire for those occasions and they sound very good, which is exactly why I perform them," Knežević hinted at the repertoire.

About the concert in honor of Bojan Bajramović: He left too soon

Knez, along with twenty colleagues, including Sergej Ćetković, Bojan Marović, Božo Bulatović and many others, will perform in the Great Hall of KIC "Budo Tomović" on December 28, at a concert in honor of Bojan Bajramović, on the anniversary of the death of this Montenegrin musicians.

"I accepted that invitation, because Bojan was a very good friend of mine and a friend of my father. We spent a lot of time together, socializing and performing all over Montenegro. We had a lot of joint performances and spent a lot of nice moments together", recalled Knez, who lost his usual cheerfulness at the mention of Bajramović.

"He was a good man, a wonderful colleague always ready to help and he left too soon, he was left behind and this is a really nice moment to remember his songs and him," he adds.

"I will sing one of his compositions that I really like, even though we changed the arrangement. It will be very beautiful, but also emotional for the audience that comes to hear his songs in a new guise and arrangement, and interpreted by really good musicians", said Knez.
