Jurica Pađen and the band "Aerodrom" released a new single announcing the upcoming album. As they promised before their performance at the Bedem Fest, they are ending this year with the song "Under the Shower", which was written while Pađen was part of the television show "Veliki Brat".
"I wanted to use my time wisely, that's why I used my stay at home to hang out with the guitar and make a song," he recalled in an interview with Vijesti Pađen.
The author is satisfied with the first reactions to the single, which has been on the air for several days, and he is especially pleased by the fact that fellow musicians like the new single.
"Just the other day, Massimo Savić sent me a message saying that the song, lyrics, melody, music video are all excellent. Vala, when he likes it, the audience must like it too. By the way, so far there are no negative reviews of the song, and I'm glad that my colleagues like what I'm doing. Although I have the support of people outside of music", Pađen boasted.
He was inspired by the events in the house, specifically one of his roommates.
"I was inspired by Romano who kept singing while taking a shower. It reminded me of the Woody Allen movie where the manager discovers a great singer who sang beautifully under the shower, and in front of the audience he would have a blockage, so they had to make him a shower on stage so he could perform. And that's how my new song came about," Pađen reveals.
Known as one of the most prolific authors in the region, the new song is proof that even after countless hits, he does not run out of inspiration, and he is especially pleased that musicians have not sung about this topic until now.
"When I was finishing the song, I was also reading Bob Dylan's book "Chronicles", which I would recommend to everyone, in which the author says that if he had the voice of Woody Guthrie, he would constantly sing in the shower. That's when I said to myself, I'm on the right track with the topic," admits Padjen.
Jurica and Aerodrom were joined in this single by television and radio presenter Dražen Kocijan, who highlighted the comic note that the song carries with his performance.
With the announcement singles "From now on I don't smoke" and "Under the shower", Pađen decided to bypass the love topics that his colleagues usually deal with, and reveal details from his private life, and about what we can expect in the coming period, he says:
"I can't even imagine where exhibitionism and inspiration will take me (laughs). The only important thing about every song that I present to the audience is that after I finish it, I fully stand behind it", he points out.
One of the best guitarists in the region and his band Aerodrom confirm their status as bearers of positive energy, and he says that he deliberately made a song that will not be easy to sing "Under the shower".
"I had to send off the energy of the band. As our live sound is very solid, and people like our energy, we decided to put it through this song. "Sound has an inexplicable power, and recently, when scientists measured the frequencies and the sound produced by the planets as they rotate, they found that it is equal to the keys on the piano that create the C7 chord, which is a blues chord," said Pađen.
Despite the new composition, when it comes to his singing under the shower, he will remain faithful to the standards.
"I like to sing some old things, including "Moon River" or "Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head", which I sometimes know how to play with the guitar," concludes Pađen.
