Almost any musical project in which several singers participate is unthinkable without one of the best - pop singer Aleksandra Radović. A musician who has countless hits in her career, and the audience equally loves her ballads, including "Kao salt u moru", "Čuvam te", "Karta za jug" as well as faster songs such as "Cuvaj moje srce", "Nisi moj ", "Ex-Dear" pleased fans with the new single "Moskva" in the middle of this week. Judging by the reviews and comments, her namesake Aleksandra Milutinović made another hit for Radević for the "Five Magnificent" project, in which Marija Šerifović, Nataša Bekvalac, Emina Jahović and Jelena Tomašević participate in addition to the mentioned pop singer.
Your single "Moscow" was published, which was made as part of the "Five Magnificent" project of Radio S. What was your impression when you first heard the song "Moscow"? I liked it at first listen and it's exactly what I wanted at this moment. A light-hearted, loving, slightly wistful but not pathetic song. I think that Aleksandra made a great song this time as well and that it will be listened to in the coming months.
Given that Alensandra Milutinović has been your collaborator since the beginning of her career, did she work on this track specifically for you or did you choose "Moska" from the ones offered? Of course she was doing a song for me. I think we've long passed that stage in our career when we're already choosing from the songs already offered. By the way, I always prefer to take songs that were written for me, for a certain occasion or in accordance with my current mood or the circumstances in which I find myself, so this song was created, so to speak, in one day, but according to what I wanted and which I liked.
"Five Magnificent" is the name of the project in which, in addition to you, Emina Jahović, Marija Šerifović, Nataša Bekvalac and Jelena Tomašević are participating. Do you also see yourself as one of the best? It would be stupid to say that I don't see myself as one of the best, I do. I think that the name "Magnificent Five" is a bit pretentious because I really think that we as humans should not allow ourselves to be considered magnificent in any way because we are all the same. But there, that title remained. I see myself as a good singer and I definitely think that I belong among the top five singers in Serbia and in the region.
If you were to ask yourself, who would you include in the project as one of the magnificent ones? If I had asked myself, I would have really included one of the best ones who are also great, namely Ivana from the group "Negativ", Aleksandra Kovač and Maja Marković whom we have forgotten a little or if not completely forgotten, and the girl sings great...
At the end of last year, in another project of the same radio station, you gave new life to the song "Train" by Zana and sang backing vocals for the other project participants. What was that experience like? I really like to sing backing vocals and it happened only at my request, because I expressed my desire to sing backing vocals for everyone. I liked the selection of songs and wanted to participate in this new outfit as a backing vocalist. The song "Train" went great! Here is sung in all music competitions, this "my" version and I am very satisfied with it. The participants in the project were excellent. And in general, the whole idea was great. It was a great experience. Extremely professional approach by Radio S, if ever. So I enjoyed it.
It's been a long time since your last album "Žar ptica", and for a long time it was one of the best-selling albums, even today, when your discography is in crisis. How difficult is it for you to start recording a new album? It is not because of the previous result that it is more difficult to start recording a new album. It is more difficult to simply survive with quality music nowadays when everything is offered except quality, not only in music but in all segments of life. Of course, a person weighs a little more, thinks about what he would do and how he would do it, but the bottom line is that every artist, if he is at all consistent with what he likes and what he likes to do, will not change his musical direction because of the time he is in or because of the storm he lives in . You just need to find enough quality and good songs. The responsibility is always big because I'm always expected, if not to take it to a higher level, at least to keep the one I had before, with the previous album, but I believe that people will like the new album.
After "Zar ptica", you released several singles and collaborated with DJs. Is there a possibility that the next album will bring a sound with which you will surprise the fans? There is no possibility to go into that full DJ option, but at that moment I really liked collaborating with Beatshakers and I will definitely have those kinds of experiments in the future. All the singles that came out did well and I'm glad that I kept the continuity that way. As for the next album, it will have everything recognizable, including ballads that people love, but also fast songs that will also be done very well. I believe people will like it.
It is a challenge to work for others
Considering that you are not only a singer, but also a song writer, will we maybe listen to one of your tracks performed by some groovy singer/singer soon? Do you have any motivation to work for others? So far I haven't done anything for my colleagues. I have a lot of calls. Considering that I don't have some songs "in stock", I always try to write for myself. It's all a matter of the moment, and for my colleagues as well, I would like to always write a song dedicated to someone. Of course I have the motivation to work for others, for all those who are good at their work, for all those who are different. It's always a challenge for every author, and I would certainly like that too.
The singing school is celebrating a decade of work
What about your singing school and how much does it "distract" you from working on your songs? I can't say that now I can devote myself equally well to school and career in that sense. Whenever I devote myself more to my career, school suffers, relatively speaking, and vice versa. I try to push it that way, on two tracks. This year I am celebrating ten years of the school's existence, which is a significant jubilee and I am happy about it. Many famous names have come out of this school. Which makes me especially happy. That there will be more of them, so that we will all be better off.
Many children are sick and helping them is always a priority
With Canet from Partibrejkers, you released the single "Usliši nas Bože naš" for children suffering from cancer. It is known that you respond when it comes to humanitarian actions, but many today, unfortunately, only have the prefix "humanitarian". How hard is it to really judge who needs help?
Many children are sick. I think that children are always a priority, considering that every day there are various requests for help. A man really needs to clear his head a bit and see where it is most difficult to help. It's wonderful that we all made it together, including Cane from Partibrejkers, and Father Gerasim from the Đurđevi Stupovi monastery, who gave us the idea to make something like that and use it for children, with the fact that we chose the purpose of the song. So, we all got involved nicely and of course, every person, from the human side, will respond when it comes to anything related to human life, and that they can help with a small part of themselves. Every man, I believe, will do the same. It's just that nowadays there are a lot of those appeals for help. I think that the state should also deal with it and find a way to provide these people with adequate treatment. In particular, what they need to address is how to prevent so much child mortality. Something significant has to change when it comes to our healthcare.
