The audience from Podgorica had the honor of being the first to enjoy a concert in honor of Arsen Dedić, and a tribute to this musical great was held last night at the KIC "Budo Tomović".
In the Great Hall at 20 p.m., the first bars of Dedić's legacy were heard, and for the first time the music he wrote was performed in Montenegro without his presence.
The evening began with Matija Dedić (piano), the son of a musician who passed away in August last year, and the song he chose to open the concert was from the movie "Glembajevi" written by Arsen. After they performed another track, Matija Dedić's trio, consisting of Tonči Grabušić (drums) and Mladen Baraković (bass), joined Arsen's wife and wife Gabi Novak, whom before and during the performance of the track "Everything you know about me" the audience greeted with thunderous applause.
"My dears, I haven't been in Podgorica for a long time. I used to visit the coastal part more often, but I'm glad that tonight we will enjoy and regret through the music from the works of Arsen Dedić that we have prepared for you", she addressed the audience.
"My greatest wish would be fulfilled, if the new generations would continue on the path of Arsens and if they would think about what he wanted to say in his verses", she added, and then sang the song "Ni ti ni ja". The muse of the "father of chanson", brought tears to the audience by performing the tracks "Wine and Guitars" and "Pusti me da spavam", and the fact that she was also touched by emotions was evident from the smile with which she rewarded the audience when they joined her in singing.
Gabi soon raised the mood with the performance of "On me voli na svno večen", which the audience accompanied with singing and rhythmic applause, and soon Zoran Predin, Dedic's great friend, appeared on the stage, who sang "Tvoje nejne godine" and "Wait for me ". The singer jokingly announced the track "Pegasto dekle" with the words:
"This is the song with which Arsen became famous in Slovenia, and which generations and generations have sung. That song is about a freckled girl, and I will bring the Slovenian spirit and greetings with her. We are similar people, small countries, and our tourism is similar. If you want to come to the sea with us, you must know that we are only allowed to sunbathe on your side".
The audience brought the musicians back three times for an encore, and twice they performed a duet that the singer originally performed with her deceased husband, "There to Travel". The audience included, among others, musician Slobo Kovačević, his younger colleague Marijana Zlopaša, Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs Ivan Brajović, director Nikola Vukčević, designer Slobodanka - Seka Martinović, former CNP director Janko Ljumović, and actress Dubravka Vukotić.
The concert ended with the words of Gabi: "This was a magical evening of Arsen's music."
