Croatian diva Zdenka Kovačiček gave a memorable concert at the Citadel between the churches in Budva.
"I was in Budva the year there was an earthquake, and by the way I left my heart here for a while, and you probably know what that means," the singer recalled.
It is rare that anyone can boast of a career that lasts 60 years, a large number of hits, performances, but also the energy that captivates on stage.
But it was her many years of experience that helped her get the audience on their feet last night, singing, but also making them laugh.
With the "Green House Blues Band" that she accompanied at Montenegrin concerts, Kovačiček showed why she was and remains the best jazz and blues vocalist from the ex-Yu area, singing jazz and blues standards, but also her songs "Mali crni brat", "Volim te like a horse", "Come back to my days", "A woman for all time".
However, the audience in Budva responded best to her hit "Frka" from 1981, which was covered by the group Nipplepeople last year.
"Thank you to the young people for covering my songs, they prolong their lives, as well as mine," said Kovačiček.
Even this evening could not pass without the block with which she paid tribute to Janis Joplin.
Tonight, as part of the international Petrovac jazz festival, at the Citadel, the audience will have the opportunity to hear Balkan Strings from 21 p.m., admission is free.
