The premiere edition of the three-day "Ex-YU Festival" began with last night's concert of the "YU Group" on Dvorski trg in Cetinje. The famous Belgrade band, with the support of the audience, presented a repertoire of songs that marked his more than four-decade-long career.
Previously, on the occasion of the festival, which in the next two days will host two more legends of the music scene of the former Yugoslavia - "Generation Five" and "Wild Strawberries", a press conference was held in the Ceremonial Hall of the Municipality of Cetinje.
The event was announced by the spokesman of the Capital of Cetinje Miloš Prelević, the director of the Tourism Organization of the Capital of Cetinje Ana Ivanović, the representative of the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism (MORT) Nikola Ražnatović and the spokesperson of "Montenegro Airlines" Nenad Marković, as well as members of the "YU Group" that opened the festival - Žika Jelić and Petar Jelić.
"With a good attendance on these three evenings, the number of visitors to this year's art events in the area of the Capital of Cetinje will reach 50.000. This is good information, which convinces us that our fellow citizens and guests followed a high-quality, genre-diverse program again this year," emphasized Prelevic.
Ivanovic expressed her satisfaction that the organization of major musical events in our city follows the traditionally most visited program "Summer in Prijestonica".
As Ražnatović said, MORT was pleased to support the idea of the "Ex-YU festival" in Cetinje, as part of a program aimed at extending the tourist season.
"Through the program of incentive measures for the organization of thematic gatherings and events, funds were provided to support the organizers of traditional as well as new events. The goal is the development of the event and congress segment of the tourist offer, the extension of the tourist season, as well as the improvement of the results of the tourist offer", stated Ražnatović.
The company "Montenegro Airlines", as pointed out by Marković, contributed to the organization of the event by promoting the "Ex-YU Festival" throughout the region during the past few days.
Žika Jelić also greeted those present, who said that the members of the "YU group" are very glad that they are "in this beautiful city" and that they will be performing again in front of the Montenegrin audience.
His younger colleague Petar Jelić added that events like the "Ex-YU Festival" are excellent opportunities for the affirmation of quality music.
Numerous catering establishments in Cetinje will prepare special programs after the concerts. Therefore, the city administration made a decision to extend the working hours for bars, which will last until Sunday until two in the morning. Concerts on Palace Square start at 19 p.m.
