One of the most famous ex-YU rock bands, Bajaga and Instructors, who performed for the first time this year both at Exit and at the Sea Dance Festival, came out in front of an almost full space in front of the main stage of the Sea Dance Festival on the last night, around 23 p.m.
"It was very nice at Exit, somehow it worked out that way. We have always been close to the people from the Exit organization, we even once did some action on the occasion of Tesla's birthday in New York, but we didn't perform at the festival, and now it just happened," he said. is in an interview for "Vijesti" Momčilo Bajagić Bajaga.
"We had a concert on the main stage on Saturday and we were really satisfied, and I'm very glad that we came here. What people say is Exit, but there is also the sea. The million dollar scenery, the space when you look at it is just a plus. I'm glad that the people who make Sea Dance Festival saw that we had a very good performance at Exit, so they called us," added the frontman of the famous band.
During the concert, Žika Milenković was mainly in charge of communicating with the audience, while Bajaga "stuck" to singing, and the audience didn't ask for more from him.
The rockers started the concert with the song "On the other side of the pillow", which was followed by old hits, but also new tracks from the current album "U sali lom".
The audience was also in the mood to sing the chorus, and the songs they sang from beginning to end were "Blue sapphire", "You kiss in such a good way", "Silence", but also "When you walk" from Riblja chorbe, which Bajaga wrote as a member of that composition at the time.
In addition to singing and playing, Bajaga had another task within the Sea Dance festival - opening a panel on the topic "Major events in the function of destination development", and the musician believes that major events are also very important for bringing the region together.
"I don't go into official channels, but from the artistic and musical side, if you're already an artist, you should be open-minded and convince others to be the same. I hope, we've been doing it for the last 15 years even though my band has been around for 35," he says. he adds that "Bajaga and the Instructors" were among the first to perform throughout the region after the breakup of Yugoslavia.
"We were the first to start without any support from international organizations, and for many years now we have been conveying the message that this festival and the organization carry," said Bajaga.
"We are really proud of the fact that we were a band that performed in almost all the cities of Yugoslavia, and later in all the places where electricity arrived, because these unplugged concerts were not popular at that time", explains the musician who performed with his band in all parts of the world except South America.
"Well, I would like to perform in South America, simply geographically... We don't have a strong diaspora there, because there they do other things and they like a totally different kind of music, and there is no chance that they will invite us. When we play in New Zealand, New Zealanders also come, but mostly people from our area come, because they also feel the spirit of the country where we all lived together", he believes.
"Perhaps when the profile of the diaspora in South America changes a bit, they will invite us too, because I think they prefer folk songs." At the end of the day, since we've played on all continents, maybe I'll go with a band to play just one thing," admitted Bajaga with a laugh.
"It's a big deal that Zvezda is in the Champions League"
The frontman of the band "Bajaga i Instructori" is known as a fan of Crvena Zvezda, but also a great fan of Deli, and he reveals to "Vijesti" that he followed the match that took that football club to the Champions League.
"I'm a big star player and for a time I was in the club's management, but I couldn't achieve everything. I was happy like everyone else, it's very significant, because it's a decent hunt for the economy, but also for sponsors, advertisements, fans of big clubs will come," he believes.
"We got a very difficult group, nasty clubs, but I prefer that to Galatasaray." At least let's go watch Mbappe, Neymar, Salah... After 26 years, it's a big deal for the club, but also a financial injection, but also for Belgrade and Serbia," he commented.
