The song "Tiho" by the Montenegrin rapper Ilija Backović, better known under the pseudonym Bacili, was among the best tracks of regional hip hop in 2013, as chosen by the cult Croatian show "Blackout", which deals with this type of music.
It is a track from Bacili's debut "Plan C", released last year, available for download from the Mulj portal, while it is possible to listen to it on the YouTube service.
Bacili thanked Blackout and said that for him, being on the list is a great success, especially when you consider the historical value of the mentioned show.
In the nineties, Blackout pushed the Croatian rap scene and cult names such as Tram 11, Bolesna Braća, Remi (Elemental), El Bahattee, and behind him is DJ Phat Phillie, the founder of the largest rap festival in the Fresh Island region and a guest of last year's Asfaltiranja.
"Otherwise, I look at the Croatian rap scene as the most serious in the region, and it is known how many names of the world's hip hop people from Blackout have brought and hosted with them for all the years of their existence and how thick the line is between the rap sound and various experiments of the recent era. Of course , borders can lead to the preservation of culture and its purity, while at the same time denying the beauty of enrichment by positive influences from the outside," said Bacili.
He revealed to "Vijesti" that he sent Philly several songs, and he assumes that "Tiho" made the list because of its depth. As explained by the rapper from Nikšić, it talks about the relationship between man and the world, people, God, nature...
"It's a thoughtful song, full of advice on how to leave the mistakes of our nations in the past and live now. The song criticizes the extreme nationalism that is very pronounced in our brotherly countries, the politicization of the church and its power of manipulation. I'm glad that it was on the list, because somehow it went unnoticed," he said.
As for the "Plan C" album, Bacili said that several screen adaptations of the songs were started, but everything was postponed or stopped. However, he says there will be videos. For this year, he announces an EP with the bar producer Masturbeator and another one with Bojkez, a beatmaker from Belgrade.
"However, there will be more releases under the support of naVAM (hip hop collectives of which Bacili is a member): Prefix's album will be released in February, the Contraband EP, Ras Manit (Manitou) is also recording a solo album, and we all collaborate, support each other, so I'm counting that too into my plans," announced the rapper.
