After talking about his relationship with a man in his autobiography, the former frontman of the cult Manchester band "The Smiths", Stephen Patrick Morrissey, on his website "True to you" announced that "unfortunately he is not a homosexual, but a humanosexual".
"Unfortunately, I'm not homosexual. I'm technically humanosexual. I'm attracted to human beings. But of course, not too many of them," reads Morrissey's statement published on the website through which he communicates with fans.
In the book "Autobiography" he described his first serious relationship with Jake Owens Walters with the words "for the first time in my life the eternal 'I' becomes 'we', I finally found someone".
"Jake and I didn't need anyone's company, we were enough for each other," Morrissey states, among other things, in his book.
The pair met at a restaurant in 1994, and Morrissey claims in the book that Jake followed him to the house, where, "when he stepped inside, he stayed for two years."
In public, those announcements once again sparked a debate about his sexuality. Namely, Morrissey emphasized that he was celibate for most of his career, but he never publicly defined his sexuality, according to the website. entertainment.time.com.
In the memoir, 54-year-old Morrissey also described his lack of interest in girls when he was young, noting that he was "much more excited by the multitude of racing motorbikes his father brought home".
Later in the book, he also reveals that he once thought about having a child with a woman, and, among other things, that "the school teacher touched him inappropriately".
