Morrissey's autobiography is coming out

The long-awaited autobiography of the famous British musician and former frontman of The Smiths, Morrissey, will be published on October 17, according to foreign media.

This news was published only a few weeks after the singer said that he had given up on its publication due to a disagreement with the publishing house about the content of the book. The publication, which bears the simple name "Autobiography" will be published by "Penguin Classics", and as the name itself suggests, this label mainly deals with the publication of classics.

"Most pop stars will die before they reach the iconic status that Morrissey experienced in his lifetime," is the label's explanation for why they decided to publish the singer's autobiography.

When Morisija was asked in an interview for Radio 4 whether the book should be published by that particular publisher, he answered confidently and with a smile: "Why not".

Last month, the singer said that his autobiography would not be published "due to disagreements about the content at the last minute", but it seems that "Penguin Classics" changed their mind.

"The first version had 660 pages, which is really too much, because I don't think my life is that interesting," Morrissey said earlier.

The biography, according to announcements, will shed light on Morrissey's childhood and growing up in Manchester, as well as his relationship with his former Smiths partner Johnny Marr, and fans have been eagerly awaiting it for a long time.

The musician has two books under his belt, one about the American proto-punk band The New York Dolls and another about the actor James Dean, which he published before he became famous with The Smiths.

"He is a contradictory and controversial figure, and his story is probably one of the most interesting of the British music heroes of the 80s. The announcement of the book may not have gone as well as we had hoped, but fans just want to read it and we expect it to be a best seller editions this Christmas," the publishing house announced.
