The well-known Novi Sad singer-songwriter Đorđe Balašević and his "Pannonian Navy" may perform at the Small Sports Stadium in Podgorica in the first week of September, his wife Olivera confirmed for "Vijesti".
“This is your first-hand information and it is likely to be so. Graduate students of the Podgorica Faculty of Economics recently stayed in Novi Sad as representatives of the student center and expressed their great desire to see and hear Đorđe in their city. We talked and they told us that they did research on who young people in Podgorica would prefer to listen to live. It turned out that Đorđe is in first place and that young people are very interested in what he does. Also, a lot of time has passed since Đorđe last had a concert in Montenegro, so there are all the conditions for our arrival," Olivera Balašević explained, adding that she even discussed the venue of the concert with students from Montenegro.
"Since Đorđe is now doing a tour of a slightly bigger production - say, there are 15, 16 people on stage, a lot of equipment, scenography, four hours of concerts - the Stadium of Small Sports stood out as the only possible location for the performance. It remains for them to investigate the technical possibilities for the concert, after which we will clarify the exact date and details. In any case, the negotiations are ongoing - confirmed the wife of Đorđe Balasevic.
By the way, if one of the authors of the most romantic lyrics in the region came to Podgorica, the audience would have the opportunity to, in addition to the four-hour concert, see a screening of his film "Like early frost", and also to hang out with Đorđe and his crew.
"Yes, we organized such three-day city visits throughout the region and we can say that we covered all the countries of the former Yugoslavia. Only Montenegro remained and we were very sorry that the conditions for the concert there were never created. Nevertheless, these negotiations with the Montenegrin students brought hope that we will, after all, be friends very soon", explained Olja Balašević, and fans of the famous songs of Đorđe Balašević can still hope, at least until September.
