English singer and musician Phil Collins has announced that he is leaving music, it was announced on the show business website Digital Spy.
In reality, he contributed much more to music as the drummer of the once inspired band "Genesis" than as a singer of sweet pop ballads.
"I don't think anyone will miss me. I'm sorry that everything went so well. I honestly didn't plan for everything to happen like that. It doesn't surprise me if people hated me," said Collins to FHM magazine.
The singer of the group "Genesis", who lives in Switzerland, had health problems in recent years. Collins has sold more than 150 million albums in his career.
Collins also said that he feels like an outsider in the modern music industry.
"I watch the MTV Music Awards and think, 'I can't be in the same business as this.' I don't belong in that world. I'll be happier if I completely get out of that story," said the singer.
Collins recently revealed that during difficult periods in his life, he contemplated suicide.
His biggest hits include “In The Air Tonight”, “Against All Odds” and “Two Hearts”. He won seven Grammy Awards and an Oscar for the song "You'll Be in My Heart", which he wrote for the Disney animated film "Tarzan" (1999).
