The first statue of the famous musician David Bowie was unveiled in the British city of Aylesbury, where he first "presented" the character of Ziggy Stardust.
Bowie found inspiration for that character in a real person, the British rock and roll singer Vince Taylor, who after a nervous breakdown began to believe that he was a transitional being between an alien and God.
The song is on the album "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" which made Bowie a big British and world music star.
A bronze figure has been placed in Aylesbury Square and features a 'relaxed' David Bowie and his 'alter ego'.
The creator of the sculpture is sculptor Andrew Sinclair, who used Bowie's mask from the filming of "The Man Who Fell to Earth" to create the likeness.
