Andrijana Božović has been on the music scene for a long time and is one of the rare Montenegrin singers who can boast of an album.
Although tracks like "My biggest wish", "All colors look good on you", "Angel's Wings" have been hits for decades, Božović does not force his songs at performances.
When it comes to performances, there is no song that he avoids singing, nor those without which socializing with the audience cannot go...
- What is characteristic of your club gigs?
I always try to feel the people who are there at gigs... I think I manage to convey a sincere and positive emotion to people.
- How many songs do you have in your repertoire?
There are about 100 songs, although I don't sing them all the same everywhere. There are different events and I try to adapt in the musical sense as well.
- Do you have regular musicians accompanying you or does it depend on where you play?
Well, sometimes it depends on the place, on what is required in terms of music. Now I'm working with a guitarist and it's a new story for me. Sometimes one musician is enough, sometimes two, and sometimes a whole band.
- You play mostly in the same places, how often do you change your repertoire?
There's not too much change, but I'm constantly adding some new stuff that comes out or maybe an old one that I haven't sung before. In this way, I expand my repertoire.
- Which song gave you the most trouble while preparing it?
It seems to me that it was when I was doing my show on TV... I can't even remember exactly which song it was, although honestly, it wouldn't be nice to say what it was if I remembered everything, yes that guest don't think that he made me difficult to choose. Exercise is certainly important for everything.
- Is there a song you avoid singing at shows?
I couldn't single out a single song that I seem to avoid... I don't like to do something by force, especially not to sing something that I don't like. I believe that the audience also feels when you force something...
- Without which track is the performance unthinkable?
I don't have anything specific here either... I always like to sing a song of my own, although I don't push it too much.
- Do you perform your original songs at concerts, and which is the most requested by the audience?
I am not the author of any of my songs, but whenever I can, I sing something of mine and the audience responds very well.
- Do you fulfill the musical wishes of your guests at your performances?
As for wishes, I really try to fulfill them, if I know the song. I have no reason not to do that much to someone, because actually that person is looking for a song that will trigger some nice emotions in them, and what could be nicer than doing that to someone!
- What have you learned from singing in bars?
I've learned that you can't always please everyone and that's totally OK. It is very important to be and remain yourself, true to yourself and your style.
- Do you receive tips at performances and what is the biggest bill you have received?
Yes, I also learned to accept tips. It used to be strange to me and I was really against it because I thought it was unnecessary and a bit humiliating. However, I learned a lot from my colleagues and realized that it is someone's passion, someone's pleasure that I should not belittle... As for the bill, it was of 50 euros.
- Do you enjoy taking the microphone at private parties where you are invited as a guest?
Honestly, at private parties where I find myself as a guest, I kind of wish I could leave relieved. I know that I'm expected to sing something and sometimes it puts a strain on me because I also like to relax and enjoy myself...
- Which gig will you especially remember?
It was a long time ago, it's been 15 years... Several of us performers went to Kolašin for a joint performance. In the race, I take the wardrobe for the performance, some black boots and go... We get upstairs and I start to get dressed and I realize that I brought two different boots. I laughed at the time. Fortunately, there was no strong lighting where we performed, and we sang two or three songs each, so I was on stage for a short time.
- Whose gig do you like to go to?
I don't have anyone in particular that I would single out, but I certainly like to hear quality vocalists and musicians. It's hard to enjoy the ambiance when someone's vocals irritate you.
- If you had a performance scheduled in advance, but you couldn't make it, who would you call to replace you?
If I couldn't do a performance, I would call Ivana Popović Martinović or Kaja.
