The Montenegrin pop-rock band "The Grupa" after a lot of successful concerts around the coast at festivals and events presented their first original single. It is the song "Australija" for which the music and lyrics were written by the band's saxophonist Željko Vasović, while the other members were in charge of the arrangement.
In addition to Vasović, The Group consists of Đurđa Petrović Poljak - vocals, Predrag Batuta - vocals and saxophone, Petar Bukilica - guitar, Branko Marković - bass, Božidar Martinović - piano, Anto Milošević - drums and Stefan Stešević - trumpet, and their first single will be, how they say, energetic and interesting.
"We are very satisfied with how the song turned out. This single brings a specific love story. Namely, it talks about the fact that you should always fight for love and you shouldn't give up easily. It's true that there are a lot of love songs, but I don't think anyone has had a similar text so far, so I hope that the audience will find it equally interesting to listen to the track, but also to watch the video that was shot in Kotor's Old Town, Jaz beach, balloon the hall "Fair Play" in Radanovići and the hall of the Budva Boxing Club, and Dušan Vuleković was in charge of the direction and script", Željko Vasović tells Vijesti.
"In terms of genre, the song is completely different from what has been done so far in Montenegro, maybe because we are among the most numerous bands, maybe because the band's setup is different. That's why we would describe this song as ska rock, and that's definitely the direction that suits us best", explains Vasović.
"The Grupa" was formed three years ago, and it is made up of experienced musicians gathered around the idea of playing different music and they plan to release one single at a time.
"I think it's the best way to devote ourselves to the presentation of the song as much as possible. Thus, each of our singles will have a music video, and we are already preparing a repertoire of original songs, so we will play "Australia. We plan to release a few more songs by the end of the summer," promises Vasović.
The interlocutor of Vijesti hopes that after this song, they will have the opportunity to introduce themselves to fans of good music throughout Montenegro, and that they will receive invitations to festivals.
"We are currently in negotiations regarding some performances, but we ourselves are a bit lazy in this regard, so that is one of the reasons why we have not played on the coast in three years. We are aware of the fact that there are a lot of us, which makes it even more difficult for us to be engaged because we are a band for big stages. That's why, like our colleagues, we won't create a smaller formation of 'The Group' in order to perform and play more", concludes Vasović.
