The former singer of the popular Montenegrin band "No Name" Marko Prentić, after more than five years, returns to the music scene with the single "Ukus pelina".

It is a ballad written by the author of the hits "Da sam ja netko" and "I dream" of the group "Indexi", Maja Perfiljeva, while Prentić himself wrote the music for its lyrics. The video was premiered on the "Vijesti" portal, and Prentić tells "Vijesti" about the emotions Perfiljeva's lyrics evoked in him:

"I created the song in collaboration with the exceptional artist Maja Perfiljeva. In one of our meetings, Maja gave me her book as a gift, knowing that I am engaged in composing, and suggested that I choose one of the texts and shape it with music. Given that Maja has written some of the most beautiful verses that have inspired me for years, I was delighted and privileged by this idea. After reading the book, I had no doubt that the song 'Taste of Wormwood' was the right choice. The arrangement is signed by Pippo Corvino, who enriched the track with his creation and skill. For me, this composition is special from the first moment, with strong emotion and depth", said Prentić, who has not been active in discography for years.

"Since my last published song, I've been questioning myself a lot. This time helped me to understand what I need and what moves and fulfills me the most in the world of music and what is the path I want to continue. I believe that the ideas I worked on, which in addition to songs also include instrumental compositions, are much more mature and that now is the right time to realize them", Prentić promises.

Since the discography is in crisis, musicians decide to release albums less and less often, but often the reason for inactivity when releasing singles is that they cannot find a suitable song.

"It is a significant advantage in every sense, if you are able to write a song for yourself as in the case of a singer-songwriter, while the singer himself mostly needs a team that will assess what best suits his sensibility and technical abilities. When it comes to recording, be it a song, music video, or album, absolutely everything depends on desire and will, a way is found," claims Prentić, who ties his beginnings to festivals. Since there are almost no more music competitions, in recent years there have been fewer and fewer faces on the music scene, but Prentić believes that today it is much easier to reach an audience than in the period when he started his career.

"I have fond memories of festivals, considering that I took my first singing steps there, but so much has changed compared to my beginnings. "It has never been easier to present a song than it is today through internet promotion and social networks", believes the musician.

Montenegrin photographer Miodrag Marković was in charge of this video of his, and Prentić talks about his impressions from the shoot: "I have a very nice experience from the shoot. I collaborated with a team of true professionals led by Miodrag Marković, who signed the direction. A lot of good and positive energy, which made everyone's job quite easy, considering that we had three shooting days that were very cold. We were guided by the lyrics and strove to show the most emotional story possible through the unusually beautiful shots of our country, which were filmed in Ada Bojana, Lovcen and Žabljak", concludes Prentić.

Working with children is special

In recent years, Prentić has been active as a guitar teacher, and how he manages in that role and whether students recognize him from the small screen as a singer, the musician says:

"From the first day, the job brings many challenges, it is very dynamic, in addition to the knowledge that you constantly upgrade and through experience, it requires a lot of energy and creativity. Working with children is really special", claims Prentić.

In addition to the results he achieves with his students through competitions and concert activities, he believes that the real reward is when you realize that you succeeded in encouraging them to develop a love for the instrument and music in general. That is why he is in the mood to share his knowledge with his students not only in the field of guitar, but also in singing.

"Mostly, they come prepared with a lot of questions related to my beginnings as a musician and singer, while the performance at Eurovision is the most popular topic," reveals Prentić.

Instrumental compositions will be played at the Guitar Days

Prentić will participate as a lecturer at the Guitar Days festival, and during this event he will also have his own concert.

"Most of the repertoire includes my instrumental compositions inspired by classical and film music, which were created in the period of the last five years and I will premiere them at the 'Guitar Days' festival. The program will also include works by Astor Piacola, Paco De Lucia, as well as the band "Gipsy Kings". For the last few months, I have been working on preparing the concept for this event and I am really looking forward to the concert", admits Prentić.
