After more than three years of work, Bosnian interpreter of sevdalinka of the younger generation, Damir Imamović, released his seventh studio album called "Singer of Tales". The new project is dedicated to sevdah as the art of storytelling, and is inspired by Albert Lord's book of the same name.

Damir gathered a truly impressive musical team for the new project, so American double bassist Greg Cohen, Turkish Kemenche player Derja Turkan, Bosnian violinist Ivana Đurić, with whom he has been collaborating for the past few years and who accompanies him at concerts, played with him.

"I assume that many of you are sitting at home and would like to hear something new from music. I know that many of you would not forgive me if I waited until the fall for this promotion", said Imamović.

The production of the album is signed by the producer duo consisting of the legendary London producer Joe Boyd (Pink Floyd, REM, Nick Drake) and Andrea Goertler (Saziso). The album was recorded and mixed by multiple Grammy winner Jerry Boyce.

The album was announced with the track "O bosanske gore snježne", which Imamović released at the end of January.

"A few years ago, Omer Ombašić, a wonderful man and sevdalija, called me from Sweden. During the war, he was expelled from Vlasenica and since then lives and works in Gothenburg. We met because he wanted to show me the old songs he learned from his mother and nana. And they were really wonderful and authentic. However, there was one among them that I thought I could sing because she really moved me with her story. It is about a poem that Omer wrote himself: 'O Bosnian mountains with snow, sevdalinko, full of longing...' and it beautifully depicts his sorrow for his homeland, the river Drina, all those characters who still live only in songs", he said at the time Imamović about the first song from his new album.
