Hladni piva's new song "This will pass" brings a strong message that Mile Kekin together with Gibonni, Dina Saran, Amir Medunjanin, TBF, Dubios Kolektiv, Remi, Vojko V, Leto 3 and many others decided to share with the many fans who they are currently in quarantine due to the coronavirus pandemic.
This is a strong, true and poignant song that gives hope and makes us all endure together because - "This is to pass"! It sends a clear message to the listeners - nothing should be taken for granted, because what we have today could be different in the next moment.
The lyrics and music are written by Mile Kekin, and the technically very challenging remote project, with numerous guests in the song, was completed by producer Denis Mujadžić Denyken.
Kekin explains how the whole story began with the first earthquake that shook Zagreb. Such a thing, he says, is not remembered in the capital of Croatia.
"We got out of bed terrified, we don't know what's going on. There's a pandemic of enormous proportions outside, the authorities are asking us to stay in our houses, and the earthquake is forcing us out of them. My wife, children and I are waiting in the car in our pajamas. We don't know what we're waiting for. Maybe for the director to announce that the scene has been filmed. On the radio, they say that we should not go outside because of the coronavirus, but that we should leave the houses because of the earthquake," recalls the frontman of Hladni piva.
He describes the shocking and sad scenes, the collapsed roof on the neighboring building, the neighbors who are confused and frozen waiting for the end of the horror.
"My wife tells me to go anywhere, just go. We're driving a surreal slalom down a crushed street. Winding through the ruins, I wonder what's next after the pandemic and the earthquake. Will Godzilla appear from behind Medvednica and scatter us all like legos?" , Kekin wondered.
The night before, he wrote a song about the difficult period the whole world is going through, when he was only worried about the coronavirus. He returns to the apartment with his wife and children, calls his friends and tries to find a way out of the crisis situation.
"I play static in front of my wife like, 'It's nothing that can't be fixed,'" but she knows me too well. I call friends who offer us their empty house in the countryside to use, until we see what the real state of the building's statics is," he continues to explain.
He goes to the countryside with his family, where he starts recording the first parts of the song. He soon realizes that he lacks more people, so he calls his friends to help him.
"I'm calling everyone I know to record that chorus for me with a mobile phone, first Shemsa 69 from Brkov, Ed Maajka, I'm calling Saša from TBF, my old friend Golub from Goblin, Dubioza, Saran from Stuk, Amira Medunjanin whom I don't know, but I it's totally ok, I call Gibonni, the scientist Igor Rudan of whom I'm a big fan, I call Sprajec, Soki from Elvis Jackson, Rambo Amadeus, Ivanka Mazurkijević and Mrlet from Leto 3, Remi, Vojka V and of course I also call my guys from Piva and everyone, but all but one agree to repeat to me the only thing we want to hear now - that this too will pass one day!" concludes Kekin.
