Just a week after introducing himself to the audience with his debut single "Lotta", Montenegrin rapper Nikola Banović, who performs under the pseudonym G Bane, released a new song called "Curvy".
This time it's a hit, two-minute song with a sexy atmosphere with a dance rhythm in which the young rapper from Budva describes the kind of girls he likes. The instrumental was done by his fellow citizen and colleague Stefanegro, a member of the more experienced Budva band Most Wanted, which already has several releases behind it and is known for tracks characterized by a similar sound and theme.
And this time, as he announced earlier, Banović is rapping in English, which is a rather unusual approach in our climate, and behind it is the Budva rapper's ambition to attract audiences outside of the former Yugoslavia. Whether he will succeed in this remains to be seen in the coming period, but G Bane pointed out in the previous period that he perceives English as a second mother tongue, because although he has never lived abroad, he has been speaking it since he was young, and he taught it in one private school.
"I decided not only to break into the domestic, but also the American, world scene, given that today's streaming platforms and the Internet itself make it possible," Banović is ambitious.
The song "Curvy" is the second single that announces the debut release of the rapper, the EP which will be titled "Switching Lanes", and which, according to him, will be available on all streaming platforms upon release. He also announced that he will soon record the first music video.
In the interview for "Vijesti", he also referred to the Montenegrin rap scene, which he says has enormous potential.
"There are many talented, hardworking and creative individuals. We also have some regional stars, such as Who See, Random, Sivil, but they all have similar problems, which are primarily lack of finance and weak marketing, which again requires finance. So, I think it has a lot of potential, but more investment must be made in that potential, so that it bears fruit. As far as I'm concerned, only geographical affiliation ties me to the Montenegrin rap scene, because I'm shooting for a world audience," he said. "Curvy" can be heard on the YouTube service.
