Today at noon, Montenegrin singer-songwriter Vanja Radovanović will release his third studio album called "It's stupid that I'm dead" on his YouTube channel.

The songs in question were written by Radovanović a long time ago, while Bole Martinović was in charge of the arrangements, and mixing and mastering was entrusted to Goran Antović.

It will contain 11 compositions, and the album opens with the instrumental "Spark", which Radovanović dedicated to his daughter. The singer-songwriter presented most of the songs to the audience as singles. He hoped that a better time would come for the music, so that then he would release everything as a whole.

However, as the current pandemic has further worsened the state of art, Vanja decided that, regardless of the circumstances, it was time for the audience to hear the complete material.

"I was just waiting for a moment that was a little more relieved than those we lived almost every day in the last year. I'm not really sure that we've met it, but at least spring has arrived, and that's a reason enough for the release of the album," he says in an interview with News Radovanović.

Since the last album "Svi životi moji", which was released in 2016 under the Croatian "Campus" label, there were a lot of singles, and Radovanović also launched the VIII2 project. So with the band, he released the singles "Superman", "Luda", "Audrey" and "Nikšićko ledno", which were also included on this album.

"Well, it's always been the same entity with a different title. The crew is the same, as is the process, so the album contains several VIII2 songs, slightly refreshed and remixed, and if some official explanation is needed, then let it be that I wanted to songs in one place," he explains.

The title track "It's stupid that I'm dead" was made in a completely different genre and will be a big surprise for the audience. Because of the text, Vanja had the idea to dedicate it to a traffic-related campaign. About why he failed to realize it, he reveals:

"A pandemic happened. We worked on that project for a long time and it was supposed to be implemented as part of a big and beautiful campaign, but unfortunately everything had to be canceled due to known circumstances," said Radovanović.

Due to the pandemic, art, especially music, has fallen into the background. Most of the musicians have not had a single performance for more than a year, and although most of them used that period to spend in the studio recording new songs, few decide to publish them. Radovanović is also aware that it is not worth publishing albums, but he is sure that he will.

"It doesn't pay off, of course, but it's not all about money. If we just blindly follow money and see how much something pays off or not, especially art, we'd hardly get anywhere. Music has no one to beat, it will survive in any case, because you have to create, and how much the music business will suffer is another matter. It will certainly have to evolve. These changes are difficult, but inevitable," Radovanović believes.

Radovanović will use the time of digitization and the large number of platforms where music is available, so his project "It's so stupid that I'm dead" will not have an official publisher.

"From April 21, the album will be available on all streaming services, as well as on YouTube, and we will probably print a limited amount of CDs," promises Radovanović. Until now, the interlocutor of Vijesti has invested a lot in music videos, and most of the tracks that were released as singles also have their own video.

"The videos for two more songs - 'U bezborj koma' and 'Dlaka u supi' are ready and they will have their premiere soon after the release, and at the end of May the video for the title song 'It's so stupid that I'm dead' will be released," he concludes. Radovanović.
