The animated video for the song "Corona Party" by Unicef Goodwill Ambassador Antoni Pušić, better known as Rambo Amadeus, was released today on the occasion of World Immunization Week, which begins today to be celebrated around the world.
The video was made with the support of the British Embassy in Podgorica and UNICEF.
"The Corona Party music video and song remind all citizens that scientific inventions, such as a vaccine and a cure against the coronavirus, and compliance with #HandDistanceMask measures will end the global pandemic and enable a return to normal life as soon as possible," UNICEF said.
"The animated video aims to bring the necessary dose of encouragement and cheerfulness to our difficult daily fight with the coronavirus. Thanks to science, the light at the end of the tunnel can be seen, so we should be especially careful not to give up before the end. With this witty video and song, we are copying the proven recipe of our ancestors, who in the most difficult moments used songs and humor to lift their spirits and raise morale, and now we need patience and respect for scientific recommendations," said Pušić.
He pointed out the contribution of fellow artist Darko Vlaović, who in a drawing showed the difficult fight of medicine and healthcare workers against the coronavirus, in which, in the end, science still wins.
Unicef points out that the presentation of the video, given the large amount of misinformation and conspiracy theories, is an opportunity to remind the public that vaccines are among the greatest achievements of modern medicine.
"From the end of the 18th century until today, they prevent the outbreak of numerous infectious diseases and save millions of lives. Smallpox, which killed 20 million people in the 300th century alone, was successfully eradicated in 1979 thanks to the introduction of a safe and effective vaccine. Polio - dangerous a disease that has killed millions and paralyzed or incapacitated millions - now, thanks to vaccines, poses a threat as an endemic disease in only two countries - Pakistan and Afghanistan. Maternal and newborn tetanus, which is fatal for the newborn, thanks to immunization until July 2019, it has been eliminated all over the planet, except in only 12 countries", according to Unicef.
