Montenegrin designer Lazar Ilić decided to try his hand as a DJ, so tonight in Podgorica's Backstage bar he will be in charge of the music selection.
As he is known as someone who loves music, but also often organizes humanitarian actions himself, Ilic's performance tonight will also have a special occasion.
"I have to emphasize that this time it was not my desire to become a DJ that was decisive, but to try something completely new for me. My friend Mihajlo, who is the owner of the club where I will be performing tonight, came up with the idea. After the very suggestion of playing music tonight, I decided to do something nice as well. So tonight, in addition to good music, we found space for a small humanitarian gesture not only from me, but from the other visitors," Lazar told Vijesti.
He reveals that in agreement with the Be Humane foundation, he decided to ask all the guests to send at least one message for the boys who are fighting their own battle.
"It is about Nemanja and Lazar, brothers from Plav who are active users of the 'Be Human' Foundation, for which funds are collected in order to realize their chance for treatment.
The boys are not independent, they cannot take care of themselves, they do not speak, but, despite all the adversity, they are very smiling and active children", reveals Ilić and adds that these brave boys need stem cell therapy at the Liv hospital clinic in Turkey, in order to their condition improved.
"By working together, we can put a smile back on these brave boys' faces and help them have a more beautiful and carefree childhood. By sending an SMS with the content 37 to 14543, let's support our heroes", he says and adds that on Saturday, June 12, the very day when he plays music, it is the birthday of Nemanja, one of the Novicevic brothers.
The set list for tonight's performance, as he says, is not ready yet.
"We are still making it and I believe that it will be so that she performs from the very beginning. Since I haven't had the chance to do anything like that before, I have nervousness, but it's a positive one, which gives me an adrenaline that pleases me. "Whatever I choose to do, I like it to be at a high level and as expected", asserts the interlocutor of Vijesti.
"I always want all the guests to be happy and satisfied and that the fact that they took their time to support me and this humane performance is not something they will regret, but I want them to remember that night for the beautiful energy", he does not hide his expectations .
As the set list is not ready, and it has been announced that it will mainly be r'n'b music, Lazar reveals whether he will play what he normally likes or whether he will be ready to adapt to the audience's tastes.
"I really listen to everything, I'm not sure that people would be happy to hear everything on my playlist. But when it comes to the music I'm going to be playing tonight, it's just so chosen and matched for the ambiance, and popular enough to make us all loosen up and play along. We all really need that," Ilić believes.
When it comes to trends, he doesn't hide that music is a very similar thing to fashion.
"You need to follow the trends, but not blindly. So it will be hits that are currently popular, but also those evergreens that my day cannot go without and that we absolutely all love," he says.
However, this musical excursion does not mean that Ilić will devote himself more to his musical career in the future.
"To be honest, it would be very difficult for me to fit any kind of new hobby into my everyday life. And for me it's music. Music is something that moves and inspires me, above all, when it comes to all my fashion ventures. But, for now, I will still leave that part to the musicians and DJs, and I will draw inspiration from it as before, but still as a listener and enjoyer, but not as a DJ or producer", he is sure.
"I also owe a big thank you to my best friend Marko Došljak, who is normally a DJ and who is my right and left hand this time," admits Ilić.
