In the "Nk pub" in Nikšić, the album "Mind slaves" was promoted by the young Nikšić rock group "Strajk mozga", which contains eight songs connected by a unique story.
"The album was conceived so that all the songs are somehow connected, so they tell one complete story. Although the songs are of different genres, each one in its own way forms a part of one big puzzle. That action follows an imaginary character and his interpersonal struggle. I think it's a good topic to cover and that these things are not talked about enough. The lyrics are dark, but realistic, because each of us can sometimes wander into our own mind and analyze things in a certain way. It is an almost inexhaustible source of inspiration when it comes to the lyrics and the music that accompanies the plot", said the frontman of the group, Aleksandar Nikčević.
The album was recorded in the "Disorder" studio in Nikšić, with the Dobrilović brothers. Bojan Dobrilović was responsible for the production of the album, Vladimir Perišić was the co-producer, who did the mixing and mastering, while the cover design was entrusted to Marko Janjušević.
"It was quite an interesting experience because it is very different from a live concert. Everything had to be more 'weighted', but it seems to us that we did well there too", said Nikčević.
Due to the pandemic caused by the coronavirus, the promotion of the album had to be different from what the band members wanted.
"The promotion was originally conceived as a serious gig. It is also the best way for people to get to know our work. But, bearing in mind that gigs inside the bar are still prohibited, we had to opt for the option of making some kind of party where our album will be played. It's not ideal, but it's the best we can do right now. At the very least, a nice get-together", said Nikčević and announced, as soon as the epidemiological measures allow, a lot of performances, one of which will be reserved for the promotion of the album in their own way.
The album was recorded as part of the "Sinteza" NGO project, and one of the prizes is a performance at the tenth anniversary Lake Fest, which will be held from August 5 to 7, so the audience will have the opportunity to hear how all those tracks sound live.
A large number of bands applied for the album recording contest, which was announced by the NGO "Sinteza" as part of the "Caught Tones" project, and the main criterion for selecting the group was that the band was also the author of the songs and that they had not been published before.
In 2019, the band "Strajk mozga" won first place at the rock band competition in Budva.
