American director Brett Morgen is nearing completion of a film about the great British singer David Bowie, which is based on a large number of rare and until now mostly unpublished recordings of his performances, the American magazine "Variety" announced.
According to the newspaper, the director has been secretly working on the project for four years, and the name of the film is not yet known.
A source close to the production said that the film "is neither a documentary nor a biography, but a deep cinematic experience based, in part, on thousands of hours of never-before-seen material", Hina agency reports.
The film could premiere at the Sundance Film Festival at the end of January 2022, six years after the death of the legendary singer.
Bowie died on January 10, 2016, two days after his 69th birthday.
He played music for five decades, constantly changing his musical style and image.
