The composer and lyricist for musicals Stephen Sondheim has died at the age of 92.
His spokesman said the Broadway composer died at his Connecticut home a day after celebrating Thanksgiving with friends.
Among Sondheim's most famous plays are West Side Story, A Little Night Music, and Sweeney Todd: The Infernal Barber of Fleet Street.
In 1991, Sondheim won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for "Dick Tracy."
