Namely, this award, named after the cult musician Milan Mladenović, will traditionally be awarded by an endowment bearing his name.
The competition for the Milan Mladenović Award 2022 will be announced from May 1, and Sonja Lončar revealed what kind of songs the jury expects to hear and how they imagine the winner of the Award:
"A song can be of any genre, but it's best if it's brave enough to go beyond existing genres and bring us something completely new," she said, according to Headliner.
Matjaž Manček says that the jury will cite the creative spirit of Milan Mladenović in searching for strong, authentic, original songs:
"Since it is the Milan Mladenović Award, we are looking for young creators, young creativity, young music. So, if you consider yourself a young author, a young band and you have a young song that contains the seeds of timelessness, submit it to the competition," Manček said. .
And Mile Kekin hopes to hear fresh author's "blood" during the judging.
"You don't have to be a fantastic player or a fantastic singer, but I will appreciate originality as much as possible - something new and refreshing", said Kekin, while Edo Plovanić has a specific view of a good song and a recipe that he will apply during the audition of candidates registered for the competition.
"For a song to be successful, it must be transferable to the audience - they must understand, accept and appropriate it," notes Plovanić.
Dragiša Uskoković Ćima had the good fortune to create with Milan Mladenović, and as a member of the jury for the Milan Mladenović Award 2022, he will be guided by the values he learned during that period, which is that sincerity and authenticity are always and unmistakably felt.
"Milan himself would cross out every song that resembles Ekaterina," Ćima said.
The Milan Mladenović Award was established with the aim of encouraging musical creativity that is characterized by the values inherent in Milan Mladenović's artistic legacy. It will be awarded for the fourth time at a ceremony on September 21, Milan's birthday.
The winner of the first Award, which was awarded in 2019, was the band Artan Lili with the song "DEPRA", the second laureate was the group Dram 2020 with the song "Daj mi sve", and in 2021, the Award went to Ana & The Changes for the single " There".
