As part of the Hype festival, which will be held in Herceg Novi from August 19 to 21, the audience will have the opportunity to hear the Croatian punk band "Hladno pivo".

Mile Kekin, who is currently promoting a new single called "Štetočine" with his bandmates, told "Vijesti" about the celebration of 35 years since the founding of "Hladni piva", the songs he noticed that the Montenegrin audience likes the most, and also about the repertoire they are preparing for hosting in Herceg Novi.

Thus, at the Hype festival, the audience will be able to hear "Štetočine", but also some older hits, the Croatian musician promises.

"Of course, there will be space for older songs as well, but that will depend a little on the time we get. At festivals, as many songs as possible have to be squeezed into a few minutes, so there is not always room for all the hits. That's why we have a different selection of songs every time. We never play the same list at concerts", explains the interlocutor of "Vijesti".

With the single "Štetočine", this punk band also celebrates 35 years of existence, and when asked if they were so optimistic when they were founded and believed that they would perform under the same name three decades later, Kekin says:

"When you start at 16, 17 years old, you don't think about the time ahead of you and that is the main advantage of youth. You are completely unencumbered. We didn't think about the time when we would each be fifty, and some even a decade older".

According to him, when he looks back and looks at the moves he made during his musical career, and if he could, he wouldn't change anything.

"I'm sorry that sometimes I was a bastard and sometimes I wasn't, like that Djole so beautifully put. However, despite all the mistakes that were made, we scored quite decently, and now we have the privilege of making a decent living from our hobby", the musician believes.

The members of the band "Hladno pivo" during the previous two years, like many musicians, did not hold concerts due to the pandemic, but they spent that period working.

"There was a lot of work, and the most I worked on was not to go crazy. Among other things, 'Pests' were created in that period and in a way reflect the claustrophobia of that time", explained Kekin, who is a frequent guest in Montenegro with "Hladni pivo", so he admits that he noticed which of their songs the Montenegrin audience prefers.

"There is no big difference. But come on, maybe the period around 'Šamar' is the most popular in Montenegro", he replies.

Arriving in Montenegro in August, even though they are performing at a festival on the coast, they will not be able to use it for vacation, but they will certainly hear their colleagues who will be performing at the Hype festival on the same evening.

"We also watch the concerts of other bands and hang out backstage, which is the best thing about the festival. We don't see much of the cities where we play, because our schedule is usually packed, a concert, lunch, a short break from the road, a gig, then getting up and moving to another city. But I'm not complaining. I couldn't wait for this!", said Mile Kekin.

In addition to "Cold Beer", a Croatian singer-songwriter will also perform at the Hype festival Gibbons, punk folk group "Brkovi", Montenegrin klapa Who See, Damir Urban with his band Urban&4, Silente from Dubrovnik, then TBF, Bajaga and instructors and the former frontman of No Smoking - Nela Karajlić.
