The guitar played by Dave Grohl in one of the Foo Fighters' first music videos will be offered for sale.
The Gretsch White Falcon guitar, which Grohl played in the video for the song "Monkey Wrench" from 1997, was originally owned by the rhythm guitarist of the American rock band Pete Smira, reports N1.
It was often used on their second album "The Color And The Shape", released that year.
It is expected to fetch between $17.750 and $35.500 when it is auctioned by Wiltshire-based specialist music auctioneers Gardiner Houlgate on September 7.
The guitar is being sold with a Polaroid photo taken by Smir of Hollywood actress Drew Barrymore playing it.
"This is a very interesting guitar because it's one of the few owned by the Foo Fighters, probably the biggest rock band on Earth right now, that has ever come up for public auction," said auctioneer Luke Hobbs.
"Monkey Wrench" was the band's breakthrough single and also the first to feature drummer Taylor Hawkins, who tragically died this March.
"I expect interest from all over the world. "The fact that it features so prominently in the band's iconic 'Monkey Wrench' video makes it the most attractive to collectors and fans," added Hobbs.
The White Falcon is being sold by a private collector.
Pat Smir, who was also the touring rhythm guitarist for Grohl's previous band, Nirvana, bought the guitar in 1996.
In a written statement of origin, Smir explained that he wanted to own a White Falcon after seeing one of the instruments played by British band Bow Wow Wow.
