Many world producers made remixes for the songs of the British band Depeche Mode. Starting today, you can listen to another one on the YouTube service. It is the famous hit "Enjoy the Silence", behind which this time Montenegrin producer stood Ognjen Vuković better known as AudioStorm.

It is one of Depeche Mod's most popular songs, and AudisoStorm reveals in an interview with "Vijesti" how remixing timeless hits is a double-edged sword:

"There is no need to waste words on this masterpiece, my challenge and desire to leave a personal mark is too great and it overpowered all other moments. I'm an underground artist, a minor in the music world, so I don't have any obligation to be up to the task, and thus some negative connotations of maltena are excluded. The remix is certainly my desire and enthusiasm and it is certainly going to be a free download", said AudioStorm.

Remixes sometimes slow down, sometimes speed up the song, and the "Vijesti" interlocutor made a version that he hopes will further shake up the audience.

"I didn't want to make any big deviations, just out of infinite respect for Depeche Mod, so I added some of my own production-recognizable decorations, and the structure remained very similar to the original, with the fact that it is a few sections faster. Just right for danceflor", he is sure.

Since its founding, this British band has nurtured the electronic sound through its creativity, and AudioStorm admits that it was easier to do a remix for their song because of that.

"They are the pioneers of the electronic sound, the vanguard of that time, something that was really innovative and fresh, although the eighties were usually adorned with that pop/synth sound. Let's say, just samples with Andy's Rolanda are of incredible quality even today after more than 30 years. It was really a pleasure to work on the remix", said the producer, who plays hits not only of this band, but also of other artists during his sets, and reveals whether the idea for this remix was born at a performance:

"Yes, in my performances I like to play quality remixes of old hits, in a modern style. The reaction of the audience is always phenomenal. No, I've always had the idea, but for technical reasons I was prevented from starting the implementation of the project".

For this remix, AudioStorm had the help of Montenegrin musician Stefan Pantović, leader of the band Parampaščad.

"Stefan is an outstanding artist and musician, and perhaps an even better audio mix engineer. He helped me a lot with the vocals with which I had difficulty fitting them into the mix, and he sorted them out with a technically perfect intervention, so I easily mixed them into my project. He also did the mastering (final post-production) of the remix in his STIVI studio", the interviewee of "Vijesti" reveals the role of Pantović during the remix.

Even Pantović does not hide his satisfaction that he had the opportunity to work on this project. Although he has the most experience in the studio with parts that are played live, Pantović points out that he is also familiar with remix work and that it was not difficult to contribute.

"There is a lot of rap, drill, hip hop in our house, which has not been played live, so we are not unfamiliar with the "synthetic" sound, we are here to give it a natural warmth. Ognjen and I have known each other for a very long time, we have been following each other's original works since the very beginning, for years we have exchanged opinions on various genres - alternative, rock and roll, techno, grunge, hip hop, so this collaboration went smoothly, because first of all we know each other sensibility and path, so it couldn't fail," Pantović said.

"Ognjen and I did the edit and mix of the original vocals on this tape, so I'm one of the culprits, that the vocals turned out like this, along with of course the master that I did," boasted Pantović.

Both of them are great admirers of Depeche Mod's work.

"I'll just say - grew up on them. They are invaluable", commented AudioStorm, while Pantović claims:

"There is hardly any musician, the genre is irrelevant, who was not impressed, inspired or encouraged by Depeche Mode. One of the musical primers".

This will not be the first remix in AudioStorm's career.

"So far I've done two, which have really done extremely well in this electronic world of mine, they've gotten support and been on the playlists of big names like Hernan Cattane, Nick Warren, Solomon, etc. Both original authors are absolute legends of this genre, they are Vangelis i Jean Michel Jarre, and the compositions "Ask the Mountains" and "Arpegiator". If you want to listen to them, you can find them on my soundcloud channel as well as on YouTube", concludes Audiostorm.
