The song "Mala" begins a new chapter of the former frontman of the Croatian punk band "Hladno pivo" Mileta Kekina. This is the first single from his solo album, which is in preparation and will be released in the spring of next year.
"It's a song, as well as the character of the girl I'm singing about, she was grumpy and didn't let herself settle into the lyrics. 'Mala' is good as a first step, because it's stylistically different from Cold Beer, and I think the message is important, to somehow support all those who don't want to fit into the expectations we have. It all started with my daughter who was hooked on TokTok where she often watches unreal faces filtered through a million filters, growing up in this age is a huge pressure on appearance and superficiality and this motivated me to write a song whose message is that it is perfectly boring and that you don't need to be cool," says Kekin.
When he started writing "Malu", Mile Kekin says that he never dreamed that it would turn into a picture book, and he even less hoped that it would be made. Tomislav Torjanac, author of "How Antuntun Lives" and "Grga Čvarak".
"The idea came from a friend who sent the song to one of our best illustrators, he got excited and made a video, I'm delighted with how it looks and sounds," said Kekin.
He also says that eighty percent of the album is ready.
"After Christmas and the World Cup and to wrap up, there will be one more single before the album, it will be a little more furious, louder and more engaging than the first one," he says.
