One of last year's most memorable hits and songs from the Eurovision Song Contest that conquered the world "In corpore sano" Ana Đurić Constructions her fans in Herceg Novi will also have the opportunity to hear it live.
Namely, on February 25, as part of the 54th Mimosa Festival in Herceg Novi, Konstrakt will hold a concert as the main star of the Winter Flower party. However, she will not only sing the tracks she released under the artistic name of Konstrakt, but will also remind the audience of her author's work from the period when she was part of the band Zemlja gruva.
In addition to her, one of the most sought-after artists of the world house scene will perform on the same evening - Claptone, and the program is joined by a Montenegrin singer Katarina Bogićević Kate, as well as DJs P.S. i Bodzie, who will perform in a joint set.
This will be Konstraka's first solo performance in Herceg Novi, which is why fans of her music should not miss it. In the past year, Konstrakt was active in concerts, and had several performances in Montenegro. All this slowed down the work on her debut, but she does not regret it because thanks to the mentioned song she received a large number of recognitions.
About all this, Konstrakt told Vijesti...
You will soon be performing in Herceg Novi as part of the Mimosa Festival. What can the audience expect from this gathering and why should they not miss it?
I believe that Exit itself brings some new spirit to this beautiful festival, which in itself should not be missed if you have the opportunity to visit it. As far as our performance is concerned, it is a festival performance with selected songs for this occasion, following what we have already done in the previous period.
At the end of last year, another recognition came. Namely, the followers of the official "Eurosong" account voted for you as having the best text. Given that you received recognition for the most innovative performance at Eurovision itself, do awards mean more when they are awarded by an "expert jury" who also votes according to their taste, or by the audience?
We were nominated in three categories, of which we won in two - best text and best choreography. I am glad that these layers of our performance were recognized as something worthy of an award. As for the choreography, it's conceptual and light, so there was a bit of discussion about whether we really deserved to win in this category, since we don't do spectacle and acrobatics around the stage. But the wit of our static setting and discreet movements was still recognized.
We also received a lot of other awards, not only from Eurovision.
You were in the process of recording an album when you won the Eurovision Song Contest. How much did everything that followed after winning and participating in the Eurovision Song Contest slow down the work on it?
It slowed down completely. Actually, I stopped working on music and switched to some other activities. It is not possible to work on songs while in business mode. Work on new songs is still to come.
You were chosen, together with the band KoiKoi, to perform at the end of January in Groningen, at the Evrosonik festival. What impressions do you have of it, given that it was supposed to last about 45 minutes?
The Eurosonic festival aims to introduce the music industry to artists from all over Europe. For us, above all, it was a challenge how to draw people into our world who do not understand the text, and our music relies a lot on the text. We managed to make a good concert, we managed to keep the attention of those present, and what will happen next - I don't know. It is difficult to go beyond the borders of our speaking area when you sing in your mother tongue.
It rarely happens that the Eurovision performance of one performer is so memorable and intrigues the public for a long time. When you were designing the song and the performance, could you even guess which are all the lines that the "audience will catch on to"?
I certainly would not believe that, for example, the wedding guests would sing in unison "an enlarged spleen is not good, it is not beautiful"! Surreal. But life can be fun, you have to take risks sometimes. Children sang in Latin on the bus, it was replicated in congregations with "so what are we going to do now", people googled about dark circles around the eyes, entered football matches with a song... what else are you going to do!
You just had a very successful last year. You have had a large number of solo performances. Now, from this perspective when the biggest burden is on you, how often have you wanted to return to the project "Zemlja gruva"?
The biggest burden for me personally is the amount of communication and the number of inquiries, claims, impressions, reports, which are difficult to answer. I'm not used to it, and I'm not even sure if it's even necessary in one life. Although it's nice at the same time. Just to reduce it to a smaller measure.
Did you also popularize the songs of the Zemlja Groove band at those performances? How familiar were they to the audience?
We perform songs from Zemlje gruva, which I am the author of among others. Those are my songs. Well, I have no deviation from them. The audience focused more on what was released as Konstrukta, but all the songs of Zemlje Groove got more attention in that package.
The tracks for this year's Eurovision Song Contest have been released. Have you listened to them and who do you think will represent your country this year?
A lot depends on how the performers will package their performance. And of course how he will present the song. I like Luke black, Filip Baloš, Gypsies, Egret, Ivona...
Given that the time of the virus reigns, how does the artist who made the world crazy with her message that she "must be healthy" fight with them?
Viruses are part of this world, just like us. Let's accept them.
