Podgorica rapper Luka Bulatović, known as a member of the group "Otpisani", presented the song "Ožiljci" for which he recorded a music video, and soon, he says, he will release an album.
"The song was prepared for more than a year, because I tried to give meaning to every rhyme," Bulatović tells "Vijesti" and explains what he wanted to convey to the audience:
"The fact that I survived, what is happening right now and what describes us, these are all our scars that we acquired during our lives and that we carry to the grave afterwards".
As he revealed, the video was shot at different locations in Belgrade and Podgorica.
"My colleague Aleksandar Ćuzović was in charge of the video, to whom I am very grateful, as well as Petar Žugić, who did the mix, and with whom I also recorded the songs 'Slow down', 'Majka' and 'Tsunami', and we are planning a lot more He, like Ćuzović, was there for me the whole time, even when it was sunny and when it was raining, what would you say," said the rapper.
In most of the shots in the video, Bulatović is seen in front of a mural dedicated to the tragically deceased Ksenia Brković with the message "We'll see each other on the other side, without scars and smiling", and the rapper replies that it's not a coincidence.
"We thought we should definitely connect that graffiti and the rhymes in the video, because it also says 'See you on the other side, without scars and smiling,'" he explained, and then revealed that he did not know Brković, but he felt a connection between her story and the message of his poem.
The ugly, cloudy weather that dominates the video is no coincidence either, but as Bulatović explains, it is not because of symbolism.
"There was bad weather while we were recording, but we managed to finish everything. It must have taken about six months. We avoided good weather and waited for it to be cloudy so we could record, because of the camera. It has nothing to do with the message of the song," he answers. A native of Podgorica, who will soon release an album.
"The song is part of the album 'Životne rane'. It is almost finished, maybe two more tracks to finish the production, two or three more videos remain to be shot and they, like the album, will soon see the light of day. If everything goes well according to the plan, it should be released on November 21", he announced and shared several details regarding the upcoming album "Životne rane".
"It will be a harder sound, which is not really heard today, there are ten songs in total. Each of them will have its own life story", hinted the rapper, who then explains why he recorded them himself.
"This is my independent album. I have a guest on one song, but I wouldn't reveal who it is yet. Now I'm the only one 'Written', because the group broke up. I decided to take over the name of the group, because the others didn't want to they do hip hop," he revealed.
As he says, after the release of the album, performances will follow, and Podgorica is definitely in the plan.
"I planned guest appearances in the region as well. My friend, who worked on the album and is finishing it, and I will organize performances together," he explained.
Bulatović also stated that "during these three years, no one helped them, and they did everything by themselves".
"We are social, but we are trying", comments Podgoricanin, who believes that it is very difficult to do hip hop in Montenegro.
"It is extremely difficult to engage in rap here, because that kind of music is not listened to that much. Folk music is popular here, and there is no room left for rap. My sound is a very hard sound, which also has no place here," he says.
