The seventh night of the Petrovac Jazz Festival was celebrated by Montenegrin performers. As rain was announced, the festival organizers did not want to interrupt the program, so they decided to hold the concerts in the Castello club instead of on the terrace. During the seven days of the festival, the audience had the opportunity to hear bands from Austria, Hungary, Italy, as well as neighboring countries, and last night the central part of the program was dedicated to Montenegrin bands.
After numerous clubs and festivals where they played, it was The Grupa's turn to play at the Petrovac Jazz Festival. Pop-rock-jazz band The Grupa was formed last year, and their model was the famous Canadian-American group The Band, which performed in the 60s and 70s of the last century. Their repertoire is adaptable, so for the performance in Petrovac they prepared covers of evergreens, but also music that is most often heard at parties in completely different arrangements. Last night, the most numerous band of this year's festival, through jazz and swing arrangements, showed how they can sound, among others, the songs "Lola" by the group Proarte, "Fly me to the moon" sung in the original version by Frank Sinatra, as well as songs by Nina Simone , Ray Charles and others.
The main star of the seventh night of the festival was pianist Enes Tahirović and his trio. The pianist, who gained knowledge at the United World College in Italy, the University of Texas, but also at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Graz, showed last night with the help of Dragan Ivanović on the bass guitar and Martin Đorđevć on the drums that the jazz direction has its followers and among the younger generations in these areas. As a participant in various jazz projects and someone who in his career had the opportunity to collaborate with Stjepko Guta, Barbara Dennerlein, Joe Kaplovic and many other musicians, he decided to present the author's composition "Anonymus" to the audience, in addition to covers, and according to the audience's ovations, it was more than obvious that they liked Tahirović's music. Visitors to the festival also had the opportunity to hear the author's composition Ivanović-Riba.
As in the previous days, a concert was held last night in front of the memorial home of the Red Commune, and passers-by's plans to spend the evening walking along the sea were disrupted by the participants of the Petrovac Jazz Festival with their jazz session, forcing them to stop, even for a moment, and enjoy the performance.
Last night, the last film of the festival was shown at Cadmus Cineplex in Budva, and the audience enjoyed the performance of "In the Year of Hip Hop".
The eleventh edition of the Petrovac Jazz Festival is slowly coming to an end, and tonight, due to the rainy weather, there will be no concert in front of the Red Commune. However, the exhibition of photographers from Nisville called "Carski Rez" by Dušan Mitić Car, and one of the founders of this event, Predrag Ćirić, will tell interesting and little-known details from this festival to everyone who comes.
Due to the weather, the concert program will be moved to the Castello club, and the Benny Brickmann Band and the Petrovac All Jazz Star Jam session will be responsible for the good atmosphere from 22 p.m.
