The Belgrade ska band Samostalni referenti closed the seventh Lake Fest in Nikšić.
The energy and connection that was present between the audience and this band leaves the impression that this is one of the most memorable performances at this year's festival next to Krupac. This is evidenced by the fact that the audience brought the Belgraders back twice for an encore, and the guys from the band finally went down into the audience and ended their performance with a choir singing with a large number of attendees.
Before the "Independent Referees" there were two headliners on the stage of the third night of the festival - Kiril Dzajkovski and Neverne Bebe.
Dzajkovski, for whom this was a return to Krupac after last year's performance, stirred up the audience by the lake, who danced throughout his performance.
Before Džajkovski, the pop band Neverne Bebe performed at the festival. Their repertoire included the songs "Ti nosiš kišu", "Da ima nas", "Pogledaj u sunce"...
"After seven years we are playing in Nikšić, and for the first time at this festival, to our great pleasure. This is one of the biggest rock festivals in the region. You should be proud of that. This is our house for salvation", said during the performance the band's frontman Milan Đurđević, who also thanked the organizers.
After the performance, Đurđević said that his heart was full.
"First of all, I have to say that our hearts are full tonight. Concerts like this are what people live for. This evening was a combination of everything we have done in our career, which is seven albums and over 2000 concerts. When we went on stage we felt a great amount of passion. And as long as we have passions, we will be there, and I think people feel that. What was felt tonight culminated in one moment and that is Neverne bebe, which people love", said Đurđević after the performance.
The frontman of "Unfaithful Babies" also spoke about Lake Fest.
"This festival and these people should be supported. This is a feat. In Nikšić, one of the best regional festivals, which is important not only because of rock music, but also because of its cultural message. This festival must remain and survive and grow, and I also hope that in a few years we will all be here together and that we will again tell a story about us with some new kids," he said.
The Novi Sad band Pero Defformero had their debut performance at Lake Fest.
The band's repertoire included the items "We've come to the end of the road", "Cowboy from Bosnia", "Extra", "Gotičarka"...
After the performance, the band's singer Goran Biševac was satisfied.
"We were left without impressions, because when we arrived there was no one there, and when we started to play, an audience suddenly formed. So it's awesome. We are always glad to come to Nikšić. This is our second visit to Nikšić. We have great impressions, we were glad. We saw smiling faces, that is the essence of our music because I think there are enough ugly things around us," Biševac told "Vijesti".
"Freedom", "Porto morto" and "Mortal Kombat" also performed at the festival.
Vukčević: Young bands to play at a later date
The third day at Leke Fest was opened by the band "Freedom" from Podgorica.
"The sound crew is fantastic. I think we sounded powerful, we sounded fantastic. Lake fest is a festival that has a good reputation and all festivals that have a good reputation usually get to the point where they only warm up around nine, half past nine in the evening. starts the main thing that everyone comes for. It's a little strange to play in front of 30 people who are there. A lot of them are new, a lot of them don't really know what it's about. You can't buy energy from that. In rock and roll everything depends on energy and communication with the audience," Vukčević said.
Vukčević said that young bands should be given the chance to play at festivals like Lake at a later date when there is a larger audience.
"I have to call on the organization to have more vision from next season onwards if they want to push some local bands, because a band like "Parampaščad" which has been around for a couple of years, which has fantastic songs, which with "Kilometers" and "Komadi" there are two hits, to have a little more vision, to give a chance to play at 10, 10:30 in the evening. If it's right at the time of the headliner, then an hour earlier, but when the situation is a little more heated, because "Parampaščad" is a band that deserves more attention and a bigger chance. It was a bit pointless to let them open the evening, especially in the weather like it was on Saturday. Everyone knows that few people will come at half past seven to see off something serious. If a person really wants to push a local band with the only chance that is annually at the Lake Fest, the only way to achieve that is to give them a bigger chance when there is more of an audience, because this way no one will remember you, no one will see you . The same applies to "Microcosm" and to us. Three fantastic bands in their genres, more serious than anyone else in the competition when it comes to Podgorica. I think it's important to give a little more chance to bands like us. At Lake Fest, if given the chance, one hopes that a few thousand people will see you, and instead of someone promoting you when there is such an audience, you get XNUMX strangers," said Vukčević.
Zečević: Everything was at the best level
The director of Lake Fest, Peđa Zečević, is satisfied with how this year's edition went.
"I am absolutely satisfied, it can be seen that Lake Fest has a strong, stable target group and that simply in Montenegro and the surrounding area there is a sufficient number of people who recognize this festival, who love it, who want to come again. I am sure that everything was at the best level this year. What is important is that this festival has two separate entities. They are a camp that has become a story by itself, and the second whole is this musical part. They interpenetrate each other and all that together results in a great atmosphere at the festival," Zečević told "Vijesti".
