Lana Del Rey is making Billboard history

When the album "Born To Die" was released in January 2012, both the album and Lana del Rey became a real sensation. However, at the time of its release, the opinions of critics and journalists were divided. Initially, critics didn't seem to understand the artist, her personality or her sound. Regardless, her fans understood her perfectly. She gained a dedicated and cult following, especially on the then-popular social networking site Tumblr, where she shared demos of her songs. She became a star thanks to her glamorous, cinematic aesthetic expression and powerful poetic lyrics, inspiring a whole new generation of artists such as Billie Eilish, the British indie rock band The Last Dinner Party and others who later cited her as an important influence, reports "Far Out Magazine".

Her charm is permanent. Her latest ninth album "Did You Know That There's A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd." earned her five Grammy nominations, and her musical prowess is still going strong. Since that first release in 2012, Lana's fan base has only grown.

"Born To Die" still remains her most famous album. She has been on the Billboard charts for a full ten years, which is why Lana Del Rey made history as the first female artist to achieve this success with her debut album.

Lana's debut album features some of her biggest hits like "Video Games", "Born To Die" and "Ride". Presenting her unique sound that blends indie, pop, ballads and hip-hop, her vision has always been and is unique. Calling on a host of other songs, literary and artistic works from Bruce Springsteen to Allen Ginsberg, "Born To Die" is a treasure trove of everything Del Rey was inspired by at the time.

At the 2024 Grammy Awards, she was nominated for "Album of the Year" and "Best Alternative Music Album" for her new album "Did You Know That There's A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd." Her song "A&W" was nominated for both "Song of the Year" and "Best Alternative Music Performance", while the song "Candy Necklaces" with John Baptiste was nominated for "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance".

The winners will be announced at a ceremony on February 4, 2024.
