The representative of Switzerland, Nemo, is the winner of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest.
He triumphed with the track The code, winning 591 points.
This is Switzerland's third triumph at the Eurovision Song Contest.
Nemo Metler was born in 1999 in Biel and presents himself as a non-binary person.
Second place was won by Croatia, whose representative Baby Lasagna won 547 points.
Third place was won by Ukraine with 453 points.
The final of the competition was overshadowed by the disqualification of the representative of the Netherlands, Jost Klein, a few hours before the start of the final.
Although the Croatian representative Baby Lasagna won the most votes from the audience, the Swiss, thanks to his convincing leadership according to the votes of the jury, retained the first place and received the Golden Microphone.
The music and stage competition itself remained in the shadow of numerous scandals: from the participation of Israel despite the politicized song, through pro-Palestinian demonstrations and police intervention against its participants, to the elimination of the Dutch representative, which is why the final evening had 25 participants, instead of the planned 26, and the Dutch boss the jury refused to publicly announce who they awarded the votes to...
In the break between the presentation of the participants of the final and the voting, it seemed that members of the group ABBA, which won exactly 50 years ago in this competition, would appear on stage with the song Waterloo (Waterloo), but it did not happen.
The legendary song was announced by holograms of the members of the Swedish team, and some of the previous Eurovision winners, including Cončita Wurst, helped in its performance.
