The most popular rapper in the world, Nicki Minaj, was arrested after marijuana was found in her possession while leaving Amsterdam, "Variety" reports.
The rapper documented much of the experience on social media, recording a police officer claiming they found drugs on her, while she denies it. The rapper later wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter) that police officers searched her luggage at the airport without her consent and that they did not allow her to supervise the search.
Evoking the lyrics of the Croatian rapper Vojko Vrućina from the song "Kako to", Niki claims that her arrest is the result of someone sabotaging her.
"They were paid a huge amount of money to sabotage my tour, many people are angry because it is so successful... They were caught stealing money from my planes," the rapper wrote.
Amsterdam's military police officially announced that they had arrested a 41-year-old American woman on "reasonable suspicion that she tried to take soft drugs out of the country" and that she was released after paying a fine. Marijuana is legal in Amsterdam, but it is not legal to bring it into or out of the Netherlands.
Minaj is currently on the "Pink Friday 2" world tour, where she is promoting her latest album, released at the end of last year, and because of the incident in Amsterdam, she had to cancel the concert in Manchester.
