A new musical group called "Hannibal" recently presented to the Montenegrin audience the first single called "No Wind to the North", for which a video will soon be shot, and in an interview with "Vijesti" the guitarist Bećir Koljenović, keyboardist Igor Perovic and bass guitarist Slaven Ivanovic, which with Kristina Pavićević (vocals) i Nikola Zdravković (drums) make up this lineup, revealed more about future plans.

At the beginning of the conversation, Ivanovic explains how they decided to name their band "Hannibal".

"The name Hannibal alone is associated by many with the character from the movie 'When the lambs fall silent' and the actor Anthony Hopkins, but that has nothing to do with us. The idea for the name of the band arose as a result of thinking and wanting to be conquerors ourselves, but with sound and energy, like (the military commander of ancient Carthage) Hanibal (Barka) in his conquests knocked on the door of Rome", explains Ivanovic.

"In the desire for the band to be 'conquering', I think that the name Hannibal is quite appropriate and suitable for this quintet that captivates with the enormous experience and energy of its younger band members. I think it's a good combination, because we listen to and love the same music and everything starts from there, and in the end 'Hannibal' is at the door", says the founder of the band, former bassist and co-founder of the rock band "Yesenjin", who is looking for new energy and sound left this band and formed "Hannibal".

As they themselves emphasized during the presentation of the first single, behind them is experience in the form of club gigs, and Perović reveals whether their author's music will be similar to what the audience got to know them by.

"Hannibal is a combination of different musical tastes of its members, but the love for rock and roll is common to all of us and forms the umbrella under which we create. We play and create melodic songs, some of them are pop, some have a harder sound, but they are connected by the fact that they can be performed on any occasion and broadcast on all radio and television stations. It might sound pretentious, but we dream of bringing the audience back to domestic rock and roll, and to this type of music the term 'fun' in the truest sense of the word", emphasizes the keyboardist of "Hannibal".

When asked when the video for the song "No Wind to the North", which they recently released, will be available to the audience, Koljenović promises that it will happen very soon.

"Possibly by mid-July. It was filmed in Podgorica at several locations, and some shots were taken near Skalin. We worked as a band on the recording, and we shot some shots by ourselves, while our friend helped us with other shots Dragisa Pajović Bullfinches, which has its own TimeLaps production,” he explains.

"As for the atmosphere on the set, we can say that it was a lot of fun. We all enjoyed the process and had fun, which added to the relaxed and creative atmosphere. Working together as a band on this project was a great experience that bonded us even more," adds the guitarist.

His colleague, Perović, on the other hand, reveals whether more original songs and music videos can be expected in the near future, and whether they plan to record an album.

"We will use the summer for the production of our second single, which will bring a significantly brighter and more playful sound to 'Hannibal', and perhaps collaboration with very current fellow musicians. Basically, the lyrics, music and arrangement have been prepared, everything is now in the demo phase and certain negotiations that can contribute to the quality and greater listenership of the song", he believes.

"As for the album, of course it would be the crown of the first stage of our author's work, however we don't want to run ahead of the ore, but to devote ourselves to singles with which, along with 'live' performances, we will introduce the listeners to our sound. We already have several songs that are in the working phase, and the best thing about this whole story is that every member of the band participates in their creation", continues Perović.

The guitarist of "Hanibala", Koljenović, uses the opportunity to announce the concerts, that is, to find out where the audience can hear them live in the coming period.

"For now, we have contracted performances on July 12 at the club "New York" in Cetinje, on July 20 a concert on the square in Kolašin, and on August 11 at the club "Morrison" in Podgorica. We are waiting for a few more dates. We inform our followers about everything through social networks, on Instagram and Facebook," he answers.

The song "No Wind to the North", which was mixed and mastered by Sarajevo producer and multi-instrumentalist Dino Mangafić, the first graduate composer of film music in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and which the members of the band "Hannibal" describe as "a loving, energetic and kind of dedication to Podgorica". it can be listened to on the official YouTube channel of this line-up.

The name Hannibal alone is associated by many with the character from the film 'When the lambs fall silent' and the actor Anthony Hopkins, but that has nothing to do with us. The idea for the name of the band arose as a result of thinking and wanting to be conquerors ourselves, but with sound and energy, just as (the military commander of ancient Carthage) Hannibal (Barka) knocked on the door of Rome in his conquests," Ivanović explains.
