American rock band Queens of the Stone Age will not perform nine European concerts planned for this month.

As they explained, frontman Josh Homme has to return to the US for emergency surgery.

"We've done everything we can to continue playing for you, but that's no longer an option," the band posted on social media.

It is not yet known whether the concerts were postponed or canceled, and on July 23 and 24 they were supposed to perform in Zagreb.

"The band will try to arrange new dates for both concerts in Zagreb, i.e. postpone them until the very end of summer. The organizer and the band ask for a little patience, potential new dates will be known in two weeks. If it is possible to organize new concerts, the purchased tickets will be valid for the new ones dates, and those whose dates do not suit will receive a refund. If it is not possible to transfer the concerts from July to the end of the summer, all customers will be given a refund. We hope to have the final information in two weeks," the organizer announced.
