The frontman of the American rock band Queens of the Stone Age (QotSA), Josh Homi, promised to roll up his sleeves so that fans wouldn't have to wait too long for a new album. QotSA's latest studio release is "In Times New Roman..." released last year, six years after the previous "Villains".
"Too much time has passed between this and the previous album. Our goal is to create and to enjoy the process, and I will roll up my sleeves and get to work," said the musician in a guest appearance on the "Dish From Waitrose" podcast.
In the same interview, he said that he greatly appreciates Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and admitted that he is like a brother to him.
"No one has done more for me during my career than Dave. He told the world about me and my talent and he was always like a brother to me," Homi said. He confirmed the suggestions of guitarist Troy van Luven and drummer John Tiodor, who said earlier this summer at the Download festival that QotSA was preparing new material.
The popular rock group recently had to cancel some of the concerts as part of the European tour due to an emergency operation that the frontman had to undergo. Among them are two concerts in Croatia.
"Every effort has been made to push through and play for you, but it is no longer an option to continue. We are devastated that we cannot play for you. We apologize for the inconvenience and share your frustration and disappointment," the band said at the time.
Their latest release was met with mostly positive reactions from critics, who rated it as one of the band's darkest albums.
