Until the second edition of the "Rubix Festival", which begins on Thursday, August 8 in "Porto Montenegro", the organizers, art lovers, and the performers themselves are counting down. One of those who got the opportunity to shine at this festival is a Montenegrin artist Aleksandra Prelevic Palladino aka Dolce Hera which has prepared an interesting performance for the festival in Tivat, which will be performed on August 9.
The first professional drummer in Montenegro - Dolce Hera is known for her dynamic approach to music, and she brings to the stage a unique blend of punk rock roots and contemporary dance, and that will be the case on Friday evening as well.
After making her mark with the band Shin-ei, she took a break, and a year ago she announced her return to music with the single "Common Dreams", in which she was a guest. Nina Žižić. A few months later, another Dolce Here single, "Sveet & Bizarre", in which he is a guest, was released Vladana Vučinić.
Aleksandra is not only active on the Montenegrin scene. Namely, slowly but surely, thanks to the cooperation with numerous artists on various cultural projects, he leaves his mark on the international music scene as well. She is the winner of this year's scholarship from the Miloš Karadaglić Foundation for an audio-visual project in Synchro studio 360 in "Porto Montenegro", and about how important it is as an incentive for her further artistic work and what the audience can expect from her at the "Rubix Festival", she tells " News"...
Aleksandra, "Rubix" is a specific festival that nurtures art, music, technology and theater. Given that the music you make has everything listed, what will be the concept of your performance at this festival?
I am happy that my return to the stage in terms of live performances after a long musical break, now within the framework of my new solo project, will be precisely in the artistic context of the "Rubix Festival", precisely because of the way in which it combines different segments of art. My performance at the festival will actually be an audio-visual performance in which not only my previous roles as a drummer and author are interwoven, but also some new ones are introduced. The upcoming performance celebrates the result of the work so far on the realization of the scholarship awarded to me by the "Miloš Karadaglić" Foundation for an audio-visual project, which presents a music video for a new single, again directed by me and produced by Synchro studio "Porto Montenegro", which will be premiered presented to the audience that night.
Until now, the audience had the opportunity to hear two tracks from your debut album, you hosted Nina Žižić and Vladana Vučinić.... Does this mean that you will have guests at this performance at "Rubix"?
I am extremely attracted to the idea of a concert, which is a separate way for the audience to immerse themselves in the artist's music, which is impossible by listening to studio versions. I paid special attention to designing the concept of the performance, so that it would really represent a special experience for the audience. As for the previous singles, I was guided by the idea of breathing life into the last and freshest of them on stage in an original performance with Vladan Vučinić, which will therefore be a special guest of the performance, which makes me especially happy. Track "Common Dreams" with great Ninom Žižić it has a special place in my heart, the notes of which you will hear within special musical formats of the performance, while its performance in the original version is a plan for some subsequent performance in which it will fit conceptually.
You already mentioned that you are performing at the festival as a scholarship holder of the "Miloš Karadaglić" Foundation, which supports young artists. Given that you are not involved in classical music, but in modern music, what does it mean to you that you got the opportunity to be a scholarship holder of the Foundation behind one of the world's best guitarists, Miloš Karadaglić?
The support of the "Miloš Karadaglić" Foundation is much more than the awarding of the scholarship itself in the material sense, but of particular importance is the mentoring of young artists in this extremely complex world such as the world of music. The team rather delights with a noble idea Miloseva to support young artists from fields other than classical music, because his experience on his path to success inspires every musician who has the desire to work on himself and stand out. Recognizing the potential to support me as a music author, primarily from Montenegro, by such an artist is a huge honor and at the same time creates a great desire to justify the trust shown.
It is through your music that you flirt with many genres, but everything is packaged so that it sounds commercial and modern, adapted to younger generations. How much does the advancement of technology and digital production today help musicians mix different genres more easily?
The world of young people, technology, video games, and everything that music and video production offers today is extremely attractive to me, and at the same time I think of all the advances that we have available in this sense compared to the period when I was actively involved in music earlier. Many authors opt for one genre and create within it, while the desire to experiment in music is a rare phenomenon, often due to the fear of losing identity in the eyes of the audience. Today, from the point of view of the progress of digital production, it is a real pleasure to create unencumbered by genre classifications. When it comes to my original work, I want the audience to get used to the constant element of surprise, which also drives me to research, and it is my challenge to succeed in making music as diverse as I create always have a strong identity of the author and therefore a clear recognisability.
Although what you do is commercial, you managed to give your own stamp to the tracks and show your creativity through them. How difficult is it sometimes for an artist not to go to extremes and to know how to balance between his and the audience's wishes?
I am not guided by the rules of the market when I create music and the only rule I set for myself is that the music I create is always liked and listened to by myself as time passes. I am an author who privately likes to listen to his own music in one playlist with all those artists that I normally like and follow, which in this way allows me to set a standard for myself as an aspiration that my music does not fall behind in quality with everything that I personally appreciate in music . As I privately listen to a wide variety of genres of music, ideas for creation come to me depending on inspiration and mood through playing and experimenting with innovations in the field of production. Personally, I like artists who do not conform to the tastes of the audience and are not afraid of losing them, which although it may seem contradictory, the audience on the other hand feels and actually seeks as a true proof of his authenticity. Then the artist creates freely, does not lose his seal of recognition and manages to ensure his own artistic revival and to give the audience surprises that will make them fall in love with his art again and again.
