Art lovers will be able to enjoy Tivat for the next three days, because the second edition of the Rubix festival starts tonight. The event, which aims to connect music, theater, fine arts, technology, on the Synchro stage from 20 p.m. will host world stars from the aforementioned fields, as well as some new ones whose time is yet to come.
Lovers of opera and classical music can expect the premiere joint performance of opera singer Petra Radulović, scholarship recipient of the "Miloš Karadaglić" foundation, with the string quartet 'New era', and the star of the evening will be the performance of her monodrama "Darwin's smile" by actress Izabela Roselini. Through this piece, she will portray the world of animals and their relationship to people in a humorous way. Berlin composer and producer David August, who prepared a great performance for the presentation to the Montenegrin audience, will be the last performer during the first evening.
For years, the composer and producer has enjoyed the status of a performer who pushes the boundaries not only when it comes to electronic music, but also classical, given that he had the opportunity to compose for a symphony orchestra. In recent years, he rarely performs only at the mixing desk, but tries to present his work through live instruments as well. He tells Vijesti about what he has prepared for tonight's performance:
"I haven't performed classically as a DJ for years now. Only sometimes, on rare occasions. I think I changed around 2015-16. That's when I decided to start developing more live performances, where I also want to express and not only through music, but through all segments of art - scenography, light... That's why stage design is as important to me as visual and musical narration. And tonight will be one of the last performances accompanying my current project called 'Wies', i it's an album that came out last year. I would describe it as a 'theatre album', which includes two players on stage, also a drummer who will perform with me, and the lighting is a very important part of the whole performance. So, at the end , it's not just a musical performance, it's a music-dance and visual performance. The three disciplines come together, I would say, from somewhere cosmic, but always with an optimistic future in mind it starts in the past, passes through the present, and reaches the future. The idea for the performance is to propose an alternative timeline of evolution," reveals August.
Already tomorrow evening, among others, the French band Nouvelle Vague, the English electronic band - Crazy P, as well as the scholarship holder of the "Miloš Karadaglić" foundation - Aleksandra Prelević Palladino, stage name Dolce Hera, will perform, and the last evening is reserved for fans of electronic music - a local producer Novak (Notsoserious) and one of the greatest musicians with over thirty years of impressive career, Hernan Cattane
