Rammstein frontman Til Lindeman has filed a lawsuit against the German media outlet Der Spiegel following accusations related to his alleged sexual misconduct last year, Ravno do dna reports.

Allegations against the German musician first surfaced in May 2023, when a fan took to social media to claim she was assaulted at a pre-show party.

The fan, Shelby Lynn from Northern Ireland, then claimed to the BBC that she was recruited and "groomed" to have sex with the singer after a concert in Vilnius. Lin said that a drink was spilled on her during the performance, but clarified that she was not sexually assaulted. Lindeman and his bandmates have denied the allegations from the start, and the frontman's legal team has called the allegations untrue.

The following month, the German newspaper Tagesschau published an article containing new statements from other women, all of whom accused Lindeman of sexual harassment. The claims were once again denied by the singer and the band, but the accusations certainly led to more serious consequences.

Namely, the book publisher Kiepenheuer & Witsch terminated cooperation with Lindeman in light of these allegations, while the Berlin State Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into the alleged incidents, after which the charges were dismissed in August 2023.

"The statements of the witnesses in the newspaper articles were not confirmed by the investigation," the prosecution stated at the time. Lindeman later shared a statement on social media that read: "Thank you to everyone who impartially waited for the end of the investigation."

Now, a year after the Berlin state prosecutor's investigation was dismissed, Lindemann has filed a lawsuit against the responsible executives at the German magazine Der Spiegel.

According to Loudwire, Thiel filed a complaint with the State Attorney's Office in Hamburg against Der Spiegel executives, alleging that the publication's reports included forged documents and attempted fraud at trial.

Lindeman previously shared on social networks all the negative consequences he and the band had to face, as well as the damage caused due to unfounded defamation.

"We would like to take this opportunity to especially thank our families and loved ones for their endless support and love; they too have been hit hard by the allegations made and the way they have been treated by the media," Rammstein said.
