American pop star Lady Gaga plans to release her long-anticipated seventh album in February 2025, preceded by a single due out next month.
The campaign for the album, known among fans (and now Gaga herself) as "LG7", will begin simultaneously with the promotion of the film "Joker: Folie à Deux", in which the singer plays the role of Harley Quinn opposite Joaquin Phoenix.
Yesterday, in a social media post, she announced the release of her first single in October, and a profile in Vogue magazine, published today, hinted at the February release of the successor to the "Chromatica" album. Vogue reports that Lady Gaga is also working on a "special surprise project."
Gaga remains tight-lipped about the project, but has said that her adventure is connected to pain research.
"And when I start to explore that pain, it can reveal another side of my art. When I'm here in this studio, I'm relaxed and able to face my demons, and what's amazing is... it's music. In a state to hear it myself," said the singer.
She added that Charli XCX, Chapelle Roan, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift and Kesha are the artists she has been listening to lately.
