Pop singer Taylor Swift won seven MTV VMA awards, tied with Beyoncé.
She won the top prize, video of the year, for "Fortnight", her collaboration with Post Malone. In that video, Taylor Swift is in a psychiatric hospital, and she herself said that such an environment reflects what was in her head while writing the music for the album "The Tortured Poets Department".
"The video looks really sad when you look at it, but it was actually fun to make it," she said after accepting the award, as reported by Hina.
She added that this person was her partner, Kansas City Chiefs NFL player Travis Kelce.
"Everything a person touches turns into luck and magic. I want to thank him for bringing that to this video," said Swift.
By the end of the night, she was up to 30 VMA Awards. She was awarded artist of the year and song of the summer.
She won the video of the year award for the third year in a row, after those for "All Too Well" and "Anti-Hero". This is her fifth award in that category.
When "Fortnight" won Best Collaboration, Swift praised Malone as "incredibly talented" and "endlessly kind."
"It took me a lot to convince him not to call me 'ma'am,'" she said next to Malone on stage at the UBS Arena.
Malone returned the compliments, calling Taylor Swift "absolutely one of the kindest and most talented people" he's ever met.
The VMA ceremony, which stands for Video Music Awards, was launched in 1984, and over the years it has become famous for many unforgettable moments, such as Britney Spears and Madonna kissing on stage or Lady Gaga's raw meat dress.
