A young artist Aleksandra Prelevic Paladino aka Dolce Hera since the beginning of her solo career, she stands out with her unique approach, style, techniques or ideas that are not common in her industry when it comes to Montenegro. Not a slave to trends, but not to a conventional approach to music, Dolce Hera will also bring a new experience to music connoisseurs with the new song "Trivial Lovers", which will be available today on her YouTube channel. This time, she herself will be in the role of lead vocalist, which she left to others in previous singles.
The audience had the opportunity to hear this track this summer at her performance, and the realization of the project was realized thanks to the scholarship she received from the "Miloš Karadaglić" Foundation.
She is sure that the new single will be a great introduction to her performance at "Montesong", which is expected at the end of the month, and she does not hide that it would be an honor for her to represent Montenegro at the "Eurosong" in Switzerland.
Dolce Hera talks about all this for "Vijesti"...
Aleksandra, so far you have managed to push the boundaries with each new single. What kind of energy does the new single bring and did the audience at Rubix have a chance to hear it? If so, how did she react?
The performance at the Rubix festival this summer marked my return to live concerts after a long musical break and not only that. I introduced myself to the audience as a performer and brought an "uncommon show", which met with great reception and reactions from the audience and equally positive reviews from the media. We presented the new single "Trivial Lovers" as well as the new music video during the performance, but also walked through genres, guitar riffs, a drum spot, a duet performance of "Sweet & Bizarre" with Vladan, and presented a remix of my first single “Uncommon Dreams” by Bizarr Duo. All this as an opportunity for the audience to feel what I bring as an artist, for whom the concert is like another music video, theater piece, conceptual performance, the will to dive into the exchange of energy with them 360 degrees engaging their different senses to the maximum.
Will Aleksandra finally let her voice out in this single?
Oh yeah. This is my first solo vocal performance single, a new departure from the comfort zone, but not a leap into the unknown. I am musically educated and I work extremely hard on my own improvement, and I have spent the past year training my voice, working on technique and with a very specific approach, learning on my own, therefore, original music. A unique journey of rediscovering some dormant knowledge and discovering one's own stamp of voice today, through the search for the most perfect interpretation that I, as an author, am looking for for the music I create. The audience now needs to get used to my voice.
You recently became a scholarship holder of the "Miloš Karadaglić" Foundation, thanks to which you performed at "Rubix". You said that it was an honor, but also that it obliges you to justify it. Do the expectations of others sometimes create pressure for you, and how difficult is it for a young musician to meet and meet the expectations of, first of all, your own (I know you set the bar high for yourself), and then others?
For the second time, I tried my hand at the role of the director of a music video, which was produced in Synchro Studio Porto Montenegro, and as a realization of the scholarship I received for an audio visual project from the Miloš Karadaglić Foundation. The single "Trivial Lovers" certainly also shows a noticeable artistic growth from that visual aspect, and I am extremely happy that we justified the trust shown. I don't mean only myself, but also my team of producers and co-authors, from the Knowhere2run studio, as well as the entire team of collaborators. I have high expectations of myself, but I always set them based on the results so far, which I critically assess against my talents, which I feel and discover by constantly stepping outside the set frameworks. The expectations of others do not play a role, especially since they are always unupdated and out of date with me, because when I present a new project of mine that they see for the first time, the process of working on myself to justify my own expectation that I set for myself in advance is already well behind me. it has a foundation, now already projected anew into the future.
You will also perform at this year's Montesong. Are the expectations like that - "to present a song" or do you aspire to be Montenegrin's representative at the Eurovision Song Contest in Switzerland?
Montessong in itself is an opportunity to dream big dreams, not because of the competition itself, but because of its significance and the opportunities it opens up to the finalists. Montenegrin "Sanremo" woke up local musicians and represents the return of our country to the biggest musical event in the world. Needless to say, it would be an immense honor for me to represent my country at the Eurovision Song Contest. It is important that the audience gets a quality musical evening from all of us, which will live on and remain a tradition, and that the best wins.
So far, with everything you've done - not only with music, but also with videos, you've shown extravagance, and that the visual effect is also very important to you. This is exactly what is required at a festival like this. How inspiring is the "Eurosong" to you precisely because of that, because all countries try to leave an impression in some way, not only with songs, but also with performances?
Thank you for recognizing that. "Eurosong" has been inspiring me since before and it is not without reason that the beginning of my solo music project is adorned with two collaborations featuring Nino and Vladan, both of whom had the honor of representing Montenegro at Eurovision. This is exactly what makes me happy about participating in the "Montesong" festival with the song "Repeat", that I will have the right stage for a performance that justifies such a Eurovision context, and which again only gives me complete freedom to show why I like to define myself as 'uncommon artist'.
