The second edition of the "Balkan soul" festival, a new program segment of Guitar Fest, will be held in Nikšić on November 15 and 16. The festival, organized by the Nikšić Theater, will bring together well-known regional musical names.
"The manifestation with the slogan 'Rhythms for the soul' will be opened this year by the famous Bosnian-Herzegovinian interpreter Sevdalinka, Amira Medunjanin. The singer, who is often called the global ambassador of culture and music of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and 'one of the great voices of her generation', will perform her music from several albums on November 15 in the great hall of the Nikšić Theater. It will be an evening dedicated to traditional melodies, which communicate with modern contexts and forms, easily finding their way to the souls of the audience, which in Montenegro now traditionally welcomes them with open arms," the announcement reads.
On the second day of the festival, November 16, at the same time, the duo "Kalem" will perform in the Theater. The duo from Serbia, consisting of Stefan Ilic (voice and violin) i Dušan Popović Lipovac (guitar), performs traditional music of the Balkans, dressed in new clothes.
"Its beauty is in its simplicity and the idea that modern man can get closer to the cultural heritage of this climate. In the rest of the evening, the audience will enjoy a concert called 'My daughter - verse and tone', which will be premiered by a musician of Montenegrin origin, who lives and works in Banja Luka. Ljubomir Perišić, known as Ljubomir Intima, has been present on the regional music scene for more than a decade. Nikšić's audience will be treated to a multimedia evening filled with recitation of verses and performance of author's compositions", stated in the press release.
The organizers remind us that the new "Balkan Soul" festival was created from the "Festival plus" segment, which for the past few years has attracted a lot of attention from visitors to the Nikšić Guitar Festival.
"Thus, the need arose to distinguish this program as a completely new event that will in the future gather other, not only classical guitar artists from the world and the region".
The festival is organized with the support of the Municipality of Nikšić and the Ministry of Culture and Media of Montenegro.
