The band Neonoen said their victory at Montesong 2024 was "fully deserved".
They announced themselves after receiving information that RTCG and the Association of Variety Artists and Performers of Montenegro are verifying the authenticity of a video that appeared on social networks, showing that NeonoeN performed the track "Clickbait" in a different version at the Zabjelo Culture Festival in Podgorica, which was held in June 2023.
"Until yesterday, few people even knew we existed. Especially in our live performances, where we played original music mainly for a small circle of people in almost empty spaces. Suddenly, the problem is that somewhere, once in front of 20 people, we played a part of a song in the making, in We wonder if anyone from the audience even remembers hearing it, and especially if that's why they decided to vote for us at the Montesong festival almost two years later? roll. But, as we've been saying from the beginning - our goal is actually to play the music we create and to spread the possibility of its placement," the NeonoeN band posted on their Facebook page.
They added that the song "has not been published, commercially or otherwise exploited".
"And that she could not have a competitive advantage in the competition, and therefore the victory on Wednesday 27.11.2024 was fully deserved. The public heard the song at the moment when the other songs of the participants of this year's Montesong were announced. If she had not won, there would have been no mention of this. talked about like it was not talked about even during the whole time that the song was officially available to the public. Whatever the decision is regarding our victory, we will respect it and either represent Montenegro worthily or wish the best of luck to the one who will eventually represent us at Eurovision," the announcement reads.
