Fifteen-year-old guitarist from Podgorica Petar Nikolic continues to achieve success on the international stage. Namely, he recently added another one to his collection of awards from the renowned world classical guitar competition "XVII Veria International Guitar Festival", which was held in the middle of the month in the Greek city of Veria.
Petar comes from this competition with the first place in the unique category for young guitarists up to 18 years old. The two-stage competition in the final was judged by an eminent jury composed of: Susana Prieto Rodriguez (Spain), Giampaolo Bandini (Italy), as well as Greek guitarists Alexis Mouzourakis i Vassilis Valavanis, while he represented Montenegro in this international selection committee Goran Krivokapic.
"I was the youngest in the unique category that was intended for guitarists under the age of 18, and I had the opportunity to play in very strong competition with the best young guitarists. I am especially glad that I was able to win the first prize and to present myself in the best light in front of the renowned jury, composed of world-renowned top artists in the field of classical guitars," Petar, who is in the first year of secondary school at the Art School for Music and Ballet, told the News. "Vasa Pavić" in Podgorica in the professor's class Marko Prentić.
It is precisely the large number of awards won in the past few years that motivated Petra to continue his musical education, and he prepares a program before each competition with enjoyment. However, all this is not easy because he has to spend many hours practicing, which is not a problem for this young artist because, as he says, it is important for him to progress.
"A competition like this requires a lot of effort and work, and I owe a great deal of gratitude to my professor Marko Prentić, whose commitment and support is of great importance for my every success," notes Nikolić, who, in addition to numerous prizes for winning first place, was invited by the organizers to hold a solo concert next year as part of the next festival.
"It will be a special honor for me, as this year's winner, to hold a concert at the 18th 'Veria International Guitar Festival' next year, which will also be an opportunity to introduce myself to the European audience," boasted Nikolić, who triumphantly ended the festival with a victory. an extremely successful year with seven international awards and a national competition.
"This year has brought me numerous successes, and each of them motivates me to continue on, towards new goals," promises Nikolić.
"Veria International Guitar Festival" is a competition with a great tradition that has been going on for 17 years. The competition took place in two stages: the first round took place online, and the second, the final round, live, in the Greek city of Veria, in the famous "Arts Hall".
